Old Ironforge isn't some other version of modern Ironforge, it's literally just this little area under the throne room labeled "Old Ironforge" on the minimap. You can see it if you go into the city and zoom in. It's attached via a long ramp to the doorway on your left as you're entering the throne room, but has never actually been intentionally accessible via that path. There are no spawns in there; the guards and Magni simply came through that door to fight us.

As for why it's in the game? The best theory I've seen is that it was going to be the Alliance's version of RFC, but was never fully implemented.

oh thanks a lot for clearing that up. makes way more sense.

If I'm around I'm definitely coming this friday.

Holy shit that transfer went through fast. Each one said it'd take up to 3 days, and yet not an hour and a half after I started my dwarf is elfified and on ravenholdt.

Throw Arkanys an invite if you can. Checked /who but didn't see any officers I recognized on.

they always say a few days for transfers and customizations and things, but I think thats just to cover their ass in the event it does take that long...everytime I've done a transfer its been 2 hours at most.

My lovely assistant and I have found a way to get anyone into the Karazhan Crypts. Previously we thought that only mages could get there. I'll be leading a trek out to there the week after this one.

What's the deal with thursday night ICC stuff? It looks like the newer bosses are being reserved for raiders, but maybe the first 4 bosses are not? I'd kind of like to do the first 4, I even expect to see a noticeable improvement in my gear by then.

I'm not a regular, but I'd assume from experience that the raiders would want to benefit from their kills by actually getting some gear before opening it up to bench players. :rotate:

Anyways, I can probably do some raiding for raid 2 tonight.

This seems like a slippery slope to start talking on, but I'll just post my two cents.

I would advise people to go to the earlier parts of ICC on Thursday and wait till they have the gear to start pining for the more 'progress' orientated second raid. It only makes sense that people who have been to the 'newer' content attempt to conquer it first right? The rest of us, myself included, will fill up the bumper crop of new folks into other raids to have FUN and also kill things for loot while having FUN.

I think in Ulduar not enough people jumped into it because it was treated as one big raid once or maybe twice a week, which made it hard to cycle others into it. Our numbers were smaller than as well, so it was impossible to have a second raid in an effort to gear more than those in the 'main' raid.

However, it will be my personal goal to restart raiding Ulduar because many of us have not seen it fully nor had the pleasure of killing Yogg. So regardless of what is going on, something is usually going on and people have FUN.

We're at a horrible spot for any guild--too many people for 10's, not enough for 25's. But we're almost at the target number of dedicated tanks/healers to set up a second 10-man group. Once that happens, Team Fighting Mongooses and Team Lady Gaga's Arid Vagina* will kick ass in full swing.

I don't recall if I answered you last night ingame but the reason for a 2nd night of ICC is to prevent 4 hour raiding runs. I like to keep it 2-3 hours a night and only going longer if everyone is willing since we start late for the few Beasts on the (b)east coast. If anyone is willing to lead the 2nd 10man raid let me know otherwise I'll try to wing it by putting both raids in the same channel and then I can yell at both raids at the same time for that authentic Steve experience.

Is there any way we might easily facilitate trade skill requests through the thread? I think it'd be really handy to have everyone's skill and rare(non-trainer bought) recipes listed in the OP, though maybe that's too much even when spoilered.

I think it'd be nice if everyone could mail each other materials and requests instead of perpetually playing at the wrong hours and not having the right people on.

I can cut that on my druid, Lunesis, and pretty much and useful gems for a Feral Druid or Prot/Ret Paladin.

Off the top of my head I can cut the following epic gem; STR, AGI, ArmPen, Hit, Crit, STR/Hit, STR/Crit, STR/STA, AGI/STA, STA, Def, Def/STA, STA/Hit, Spwr, Spwr/INT. I may know more but those I recall cutting a lot of.
