Game of the Year 2009 [Let's Vote]

This is a GOTY poll that I've been running at this forum and elsewhere (mostly here) each year since 2004. The way it works is that you rank your favorite games of the year-- up to 20, though vote for as many or as few as you want-- and the script will sort out the top 200 or so out of everyone's votes. Here's last year's results if you want to see what this looks like (or previous years here). I will run this poll script for one week and then post the results. Hope people enjoy this!

Just filled it out, I'll be interested to see the results. My top game never wins, but I wonder how close it will come this year. My top games were SFIV, Uncharted, FF: Dissidia, RE5, Flower, and Muramasa. I own AC2 and other big ones, but I haven't had time to play them.

I was a bit surprised when I saw Legend of Princess in the list of games, because I thought it was from last year, but when I looked it up I saw it was released on 24th of january.

Well, done. When I played Little King's Story earlier this year I thought 'this is my GOTY' and so it has remained. Arkham Aslyum was a close second though.

Haven't been playing any of the new console releases and didn't bother to try to rate 10 and beyond as I was already struggling trying to find an order for 6-9.
L4D2 is the big GOTY for me though. Anxious to try out Batman this year.

Well, it's a shame that only US releases count - many of the games I liked this year weren't released in the US this year (or, in the case of Another Code R, at all!). But hey, dura lex sed lex.

Also, this was the year my old PC broke and I was forced to sacrifice my budget for a new one.

So, I could really only choose 8 games from the list. Muramasa was my top vote, and SFIV was close.

I only had 16 games in my list. I suck at having money to buy games!

Resident Evil 5 was my #1. Then Crystal Bearers, Retro Game Challenge, Rhythm Heaven and New Super Mario Bros Wii. The rest after those weren't really in any particular order.

There are so many games on there that I probably would have ranked had I actually played them. I mean, I still haven't played Wii Sports Resort or Shadow Complex.

Thanks for doing this mcc, I enjoy it every dang year.

Droplitz is a pretty fun game, the soundtrack is a blast.

Yeah, that's just poor everything right there. I'm sure they are not immune to MW2 syndrome, as many people aren't ("here's a photo of a person touching someone who bought MW2!) but not even giving UC2 best PS3 title? Or best graphics?

Then again, these are the same people who said that they didn't give UC2 a higher rating (mind you it got a 9.4, quite good) because it didn't have any gimmicks or try anything new.

Yeah.

It would be easier to use, if you could toggle unwanted platforms off.

I don't have ps3, psp or wii, so I don't need to see their games for voting. Much less clutter.

I've only owned Shattered Horizon for a few hours but it is totally awesome.

L4D2 is such a large improvement over the first game it barely edged out Dragon Age for my number 2 slot.

Yeah , I don't think batman was the best game, but it was probably pretty close to if not the best multi platform game so that could very well secure it the win. My 1 and 2 were both ps3 exclusives (Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls)which means I doubt they'll get many votes in the grand scheme of things.
