Wireless adaptor antenna

So I currently have a WMP54G adaptor in my HTPC and the antenna on it broke off about a year ago. The card still functions and it can connect to the network, but my tv set up is in a terrible area (this cant be changed) so the HTPC is getting an intermittent signal. The PS3 right next to it however can connect just fine (although sometimes it drops out).

Im currently thinking of making those parabola range extender things for my router: video

But I also figure maybe actually having an antenna on the adaptor may be useful.

I still have the antenna but I cant get it to screw on and it kinda just goes limp (it fell off and the thing giving it rigidity cracked). Can I just superglue it back on? Can I just make a ghetto antenna out of aluminum foil and stick that on there?

So, Im not sure if people just dont have an answer (which is fine) or if Im not describing my problem well enough (this may be the case as Ive read several posts by others who seem to be in a similar situation but Im not sure because their descriptions just arent very good) so Ive decided to include some pictures.

    This is my antenna:

    But it should look like:

This is what the card look like:

So I can either glue the antenna so that it stays upright which should give me better wireless reception, but that doesnt solve my other problem - the antenna itself will not stay attached to the card.

Can I glue the antenna back onto the card?

If not, will making an antenna out of aluminum foil work? Will it harm my card?

Id ask Linksys, but their solution seems to be to just buy a new card. Fuck that (unless, you know, I have to, but even then I'll just end up running some Cat6 through the walls).
