    are they cheap brushes? because those probably wont' hold a shape. i had all end of frustration before i buckled down and got some decent ones.

    They're the same brands that everyone here at the school uses (Robert-Simmons Signet and Langnickel), and I trust the people here not to paint with or sell me on terrible things.

    I don't know if I just have bad luck, or if somehow I'm doing something absolutely retarded to them without knowing it or what. Do I need to click my heels and pray to the bristle gods before every stroke or something?

    that'll work. also clean them after every use and don't let the paint get in the roots.

    honestly, you probably know all the basic things that i can think of. ask around at yo super fancy school, i'm sure someone there has used a paintbrush

    Also, I've decided that I'm going to do Beavo's/Iruka's 2003-2009 Art Timeline thing........only I'll have to wait to go back home in March before I can fill in a few of the years - I deleted everything off of my deviantart account, and that's where a lot of my old arts were kept. :3

    I've filled in most of it so far, though! The 2003 and 2009 comparisons make me happy, but...the 2006-2008 years seem kinda random in the skill-level dept. Some may be from early in the year, and then late in the year, or something.....but it's honestly making me wonder if the file dates for some of the pieces on my compooter are correct or not.

    Hey. HEY.

    If it's any consolation, 3/4 of my 2003 panel consists of THE ANIMES.

    One of the reasons I want to go back home and find my old art is because I know that's not all I drew back then. I remember my sketchbook, and I remember doing realistic stuff too.

    Honestly, I want to extend the thing back another few years, because that's when you really get to see me starting out with everything and doing a "wtf" with every image. :P MY FIRST PHOTOSHOPS, dodge and burn tools on an anime character. Oh goodness. Sweet, horrible goodness.

    I'd like to do this but it would only remind me that all of my art from 2007-2008 was lost when my hard drive up and died one day.

    But it's too late because I just reminded myself.

    Kevin's painting is better when you realize that its a Lizardman flying the spaceship.

    Oh right, and to add something constructive. Kevin you should pick up some Dr. Bronners if you haven't already. If you have already heard this around the school I won't go into it further but if you need to know the trick to using it let me know.

    I'm not talking about any specific company...just in general, I'm curious.

    .....and yeah, I don't think I'd feel comfortable enough to lie in an interview, and effectively.
    "UH UH UH YEAH I PLAYED THIS"
    "What did you think about the final boss on the WhatTheFuck level?"
    "UH UH UH HE LOOKED PRETTY MEAN YEP"
    "...it was a woman"
    "OH RIGHT OLOL YEAH I MUST HAVE MIXED UP THE LEVELS"
    "all....all of the bosses were female"
    "OH YEAH OLOL WHOOPS OLOLOLOL D:D:D: "

    ~~~~~~~~
    I mean, if I got an interview somewheres, I'd try to arrange a way to play at least *one* of their games beforehand, yes. I'd also research the hell out of the company and read game reviews and all that, etc. etc. ....I'd go prepared....but it's a sure-fire way to not be hired if you haven't played one at all, right? I mean....unless you're freaking amazing...and/or famous - in which case you'd probably be amazing, anyway. RITE!?
    I'm going to assume you're joking about this whole thing.
    An interview at whatever big name game company is like one at any other place. No amount of skill is going to matter if you can't even present your work professionally.
    I honestly have no idea what either of these statements have to do with what I was talking about. I'm not in disagreement with you here, but...I'm not sure why you brought them up?
    Yeah I have that stuff too, it works though its a little more difficult to clean your brushes with. I love how in that photo they just set them out casually like someone is using a bunch of soaps as a centerpiece on their coffee table or something.
    We use Dr. Bronners to help maintain the shape of the brush.
    I can hardly be called sober once I take my nightly ambien.
    If I am having lots of trouble sleeping, I'll take a double dose to knock me out.
    And then I just black out on things. My memory becomes bad after 1 ambien, but 2 actually makes me black out on a lot of things until I finally go to sleep.
    I actually beat the first area of Dragon Age like this. I was very confused as to how I got there the next morning.
    It's believed that that's not actually wildlife. There's strong evidence that that's a tame wolf which lives in captivity.
    It's a terrific photo. It just might not be wildlife, exactly.
    i have a hard time believing the two animals in that comparison photo are the same. the ears really stand out to me. the captive wolf has like...super furry ears and as the woman pointed out, some sort of weird cut thing
    The mark (scar?) between the eye and nose is pretty spot-on, and the whole "a wild wolf wouldn't jump when it could crawl" seems kinda plausible. On the other hand the comparison photos of the area are pretty weak, too. More on the ear thing, they could check the EXIF data on the photographer's pic. If it's as new or newer than the pic of the captive wolf with the messed up ear then there's evidence that it's not the same wolf. I hate speculation when there's factual data that can be checked...
    It does seem plausible, but it also seems like the people examining the picture are coming at it from the slant that it's a fake, and even plausible logic from a biased investigator is suspect, at least to me. I guess the truth, in time, will out.
    MKR, it means the latter. Just keep doing it, over and over, keeping in mind what you did in previous attempts and how to make it better. Don't strive for perfection, strive for improvement. "Better than last time," is a good feeling.
