So, heres the dealio. My girlfriend is coming back in town from a two week venture to her family's homestead on Monday. We're a reasonably new couple so this has been a painful experience for the both of us, so naturally I want to do something pretty kick ass for her upon her return.
My plan was to go to this outdoor mall, grab a nice dinner, walk around with some coffee, enjoy the pleasantly warm weather (Yay Texas!) and see a movie. Brilliant plan, with but one snag.
Diets.
I've been the fault of her failing her regimens in the past, and I don't want to do it again, so that rules out spending the entire evening out, and puts me in the driver seat for some mad healthy cooking.
Okay, by one snag, I meant two snags.
For the next week or so, she can't have any carbs. Some sort of craving reset thing. Which rules out every goddamned thing I know how to cook. So, citizens of H/A, hear my call! Share with me your recipes and ideas for a nice homecoming meal that has little to no carbs, and could have ingredients acquired for ~50 smackers.
tl;dr: My girlfriend is coming home from an extended stay at her parents some 300 miles away. I want to prepare a bitchin' homecoming meal, but sadly she cannot eat carbs. Recommend me some recipes or meal ideas!

And there is a world of difference between "can have no carbs at all" and "low carb". Which of those this actually is will determine what is allowable.
Meat is pretty much going to be the staple of this meal, all you really need to worry about is what you cook along with the main dish (secondary ingredients as well as any sides).
Potato's are out, but many other veggies will be fine. Likewise a salad might be doable with a carb free/lite dressing that she likes.
Most alcohol will have some carbs in it, so that may be out of the picture as well if it's truly a "no carb" night.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, she says no carb, but I think if something small pops in there it'll be okay. I have some champagne I'm hoping to break out, but I think thats a no go.
Steaks probably the way to go... Any side suggestions I could use to blow her away with my cooking prowess?
