[I missed this new thread. Reposting from the very end of the old one]
I ended up with 18 games and 2 expansion packs for just $50. Very satisfied. Hopefully this will become a Christmas gaming tradition for years to come.
I'm thinking about going back for some more but I'm on the fence about it. If anyone has any opinions on the following that might sway me one way or another, I'd be interested in hearing them:
The Witcher
ArmA
Dark Messiah Might and Magic
Republic Commando
Zeno Clash
An X-Com game (I'd probably go for one over the pack, but I'm not sure which)
The Void
Commandos 3
Puzzle Quest
Zombie Shooter 2 (I've already got Alien Shooter 2, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to have both)
I enjoyed Republic Commander. I found ARMA (2?) very glitchy. Operation Flashpoint is a better version of it.
Steam has not charged me for a game since the 23rd. I have easily spent 70 dollars over the past two weeks, and my purchase on the 23rd showed up the same day on my account.

Why so slow, Steam?
Try relaunching Steam? You've probably tried that though...
I didn't go too overboard on these sales but I like what I got.
GRID
Torchlight
Red Faction: Guerrilla
The Last Remnant
Only problem is I get some pretty bad stuttering problem for grid. I don't get this problem with any other game. It even persists if I set the game on the lowest graphics. It's pretty much unplayable. Too bad, I think I would have really liked it.
Will Defense Grid provide me any more fun than any of the free flash tower defense games? What puts it above the free ones other than graphics?
Graphics. Sound. Music. Plot. Voice Acting. Nice variety of towers. Nice variety of enemies. Best tower defense game I've ever played. One of my top 10 games of 2009. And so forth and so on.
Looks like they aren't checking the country anymore when you purchase with Visa, ie. anyone can buy from the UK and US storefront (if you change the country).
Unless the repercussions only show up 2-3 days from now.
Wait, seriously? Steam is old fashioned again when everything was crazy cheap? I might have to buy some more games then
On that subject, how about that indigo prophecy? Some of the mechanics seemed interesting but there were a lot of people in the thread before saying it was shit.
I bought Ghostbusters after waiting to see if it would show up in any one-day sales. I'm not upset as $7 bucks is an awesome price. I also picked up Alien Shooter 2: Reloaded. It looks like it will be a lot of good mindless shooting. If it's even 1/4 as good as Shadowgrounds it'll have been worth the $1.50.

Arg, was downloading my games and Steam froze. So I restart Steam and it freezes while loading the storefront every time. Even tried restarting Steam :O
Man, I was gonna play some Fate of Atlantis, too :<
Well, it's the last day of sales, and even though I said I'd stop at the Jedi Knight pack, I'm tempted to go for some last minute deals... some of these games are just stupidly cheap ($2.49 for 4 classic LucasArts adventure games!).
The purchases show up on Steam, but I haven't had a penny taken from my account since Braid on the 23rd.
I can play the games fine, and I have no problem not paying for them! But I'd rather not have to keep track of 70 bucks indefinitely.
Oh, so it's not just me?
I actually just sent Steam Support a ticket because of that. It's not that I don't mind them not charging me, but that's a lot of money.
I just checked, none of my steam purchases going back since the sale started have been processed. I thought they might be trying to minimize transaction costs by consolidating all your charges into a single charge, but I dont see how they can legally do that or stay within VISA/MC terms of service. Really does make me wonder wtf is going on though.
All of mine went through the 'Authorized' thing, where they reserve the credit. But then after a few days (normally when the funds are actually withdrawn from my account) they just disappear *shrug*
I don't remember my STEAM password. It's fine right now, because it automatically logs me in, but after the reformat I won't be able to do this. Can someone point me in the right direction for password recover? I can't find it in the STEAM client itself.

Have you verified your email address? You need to do that so they can send you your password.

Yep, it's verified, just can't find a link for "recover password." I can try and change it in the STEAM client, but it asks for the current one.
I wish to purchase a game in which I fly a spaceship. Is X3 good?
Should I get the two pack with X2 and X3:Reunion? Whats the difference between Reunion and Terran Conflict?
Or should I get another game with spaceships?
There's absolutely, positively no reason to get a previous X game once a new one comes out (unless you care about the plot... and trust me, you don't care about the plot). Get Terran Conflict.
Man, I am really torn on getting Fallout 3 GOTY. I already own the game, but none of the DLC, and buying that now would be cheaper than getting it all individually.
But, damn, €37 is still pretty expensive. And I wanna get Call of Juarez 2 as well.

iTunes does that, batches up purchases for a couple of days before it submits them all on one receipt. I wouldn't be surprised if Steam was doing the same thing.
Steam Question: How do I view my steam achievements? They've been popping up like crazy in Defense Grid and I'd like to see what the objectives are that I'm completing. But I can't seem to locate my own personal list of achievements.
I never write them down thinking I'll remember them, but I never do. Then STEAM will ask the most difficult of them, like "What is the name of your school?"
And I'll think, do you mean my high school? The university I just graduated from 6 months ago? The school that I currently work at?
I don't the recycled sales since i missed stalker and defense grid.
Here's the thing i'm wondering... I bought bioshock off of D2D's anniversery sale for $5 but the problem is that every single time i launch it I am forced to reenter my activation code. If i bought it on steam could I simply start the download, stop it after it generates the folders and move the game to there and have it be recognized as steam's version?
I'd be amazed if you were that lucky
I doubt it. There is a way to get the constant activation to stop though, try D2D's Support site.
Yeah it turned out that it was a simple problem of my firewall blocking the activation so now i can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be... laggy whenever things blow up.
Well I spent more than I thought I did, but I'm justifying it by calling this the bulk of my gaming budget for 2010, and I've got a feeling this all is going to last me a good while.

Well thing is, you fill in your same visa information but replace the country and check the "Yes I live in this country" box and then they process it. So it's not completely kosher.
But considering Valve completes the transaction I have to assume they got the transaction authorization from the card issuer, ready for batch processing.
I'll let you know if anything pops up when the charge is completed in 2-3 days.

Basically: Geralt is awesome, I found the setting very interesting and the story/characters are well done in my opinion.
Not many get sold on combat but I think if you pick normal/hardest and experiment a lot with signs/alchemy you may get to enjoy that aspect too.

In other news, I think I now own every game on Steam that I'm interested in. Hoy.
Rent is due though.. Aaaaand, I don't think my computer can run witcher.
Dammit Valve!
but at least we got Torchlight for five bucks.
Honestly, for $2.50... the graphics are enough reason.

The only solution to the housing crisis? One-day 75% discounts on mortgage payments.
Unfortunately that day coincides with Steam running a one-day 75% discount sale on Modern Warfare 2.

Christ.
Just purchased The Witcher and Oblivion GOTY.
Seriously, I have no idea how I'm ever going to play half of the games I've bought. Look at my library.
