On a real guitar? My guess is moving your fingers up/down a few frets on a single strum.
By fingers I mean leaving them in the same configuration but moving your whole hand to a lower/higher fret.
You'd do it the same way you do hammer-ons/pull-offs on a single string, just with more strings and more fingers. Play a note, add/remove fingers until you're sounding out with your desired notes. There's a lot of technique involved in making such a process sound good, though.
So yeah, they made the guitar parts in most of the Axis songs really awkward. I'm pretty part of that was me though, I just wasn't feeling it. I think part of the problem is trying to translate what he was actually doing on the guitar into comparatively difficult game charts, and a lot of it is really difficult to pull off, but that doesn't really make it particularly fun to play. This includes a ton of 3 note chord quick changes into HO/PO chords into 2 note chords and also of lot of that...thing where I think there should be more of a string of HO/POs but then there's a ton of strum notes mixed up in there and my timing is just completely thrown off.
But after a bit of practice I'm sure they will mostly be loads of fun to play. I forgot to get/didn't have enough points to get the new song though.
Also there's a chance my RB2 guitar is slightly out of whack somehow. That might just be me though. I really can't tell.
Still haven't decided what all I'm gonna pick up from this week. Don't think I'll get the whole album (ye gods I don't think I'd ever pass "If 6 Were 9") but I'll definitely get some of it.
[...] Electric Flannel will be bringing songs by guitarist Brian Kahanek to the Rock Band Network! [...] In addition to “Gemini”, you’ll be able to download songs from Brian’s upcoming album, “One True Thing”. The first track from the album, “Bottle Rocket”, is streaming on Brian’s website. All of these tracks will be available on the Rock Band Network Music Store for Xbox 360 consoles later this year. [...]
"If 6 Were 9" has totally indecipherable fills. I was surprised I didn't fail on sight-read.
The drum solo is just... man, I dunno, but I know I'd fail the hell out of it.
I'm suspecting that I might just buy "Spanish Castle Magic" and get my Hendrix covered by that and "Fire" (which has really fun but extremely challenging fills and is probably the best thing about Lego Rock Band).
And I actually enjoyed those fast-switching chords! They took a while to get just right, but when I was able to consistently hit them every time I played it, I felt like a god
I spoke to the CEO of Twisted Pixel at PAX, and he mentioned that as well as the theme, Splode Beneath My Splosion and the Donut Song are also going to be on RBN.

It's weird how in Rock Band I'm really pretty good at drums but I suck butt at guitar
And in real life I'm a decent guitarist and a mediocre drummer
Not that weird at all. Drumming has been simplified compared to the real thing. So has guitar, but to the point where some stuff only makes sense as a game mechanic and not in the real world.
Of course, that's coming from somebody who doesn't know how to play either for real and simply thinks they have a good understanding of the mechanics behind really playing. (I want to strum properly up and down the strings but I'm constantly thrown off by having only one string.) The Hendrix tracks will probably push the limits of what seems right, for both instruments.
And also, I'm so fucking tired of playing wankerific metal songs, I'll just be happy if the RB2 export is the same as it was for RB1. Even if it means having no 'ignore' function in RB3. I want to get rid of a few songs so badly, I can feel it in my wrists...
I like the Hendrix songs a lot on guitar, even if some of them will take a bit of practice because they have a lot of patterns that are just flat out not in other songs.
I can only really play the 4 star and below songs on drums and they're all really good and remind me of what I like about the Beatles drum tracks: fairly easy main beat with a lot of fun fills.
After a second playthrough of most of the songs, I'll recant my previous statement and say that "Little Miss Lover", "Bold as Love", and "Castles Made of Sand" are all really awesome on drums. "If 6 was 9" is pretty neat, but I doubt I'll ever be able to get over 85% on the solo, as it really just strikes me as something that isn't quite possible on the basic equipment. "You Got Me Floatin'" has that one fill in the bridge that makes me crosseyed.

Eh, I think it's just muscle memory. With RB, there's no easy method of learning the songs, so you're basically having to sight read the whole time. With guitar, you learn that most songs of a given style are more similar to each other than they are different. With RB, what colors are assigned are more or less arbitrary, just following a similar pattern. For me at least, that, coupled with the crutch of sight reading, makes guitar harder.
Drums are much closer to the real thing than guitar is. For most songs, you could run the drumkit through midi, play along with the game, and have something that sounds pretty close. You also have the advantage of red = snare most of the time, etc, so you're able to become more used to the drumkit as an instrument.
The biggest hurdles between RB drums and drum drums are actual technique (RB doesn't care how hard and where you hit the drum, just that you hit it on time), and pretty much everything about the hi-hat (positioning, left foot pedal, ...).
SUP YA'LLZ!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(This is in reference to "Gemini", please God let it make the PS3 cut)
Bet on any HMX era GH song to make the cut, at least eventually. Those tracks are moving 'units'.
Good

GH5 gets Free Bird on April 1st. I wonder when we'll see it on RB, it's been a LONG while since the Lynyrd Skynyrd pack.
Is that the master or the same one that was in Smash Hits?
Not sure, just read the post on Joystiq. And it doesn't say it's cover.
You're right. I forgot it was a Classic Rock Pack.
But those 15 people have a better track record than some hundred-plus game developers.

Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst
So hopefully this will happen soon.
