My warlock constantly got of the solider/bandit drops. It was extremely frustrating.
Me and my wife have been playing a priest and paladin and doing a lot of LFD dungeons. She plays the paladin and is ret, I play the priest. Nearly everyone one of her satchel items have been caster stats, and every single satchel item I've gotten barring 1 belt from the first satchel out of the first instance I did on that character, have been tank/melee dps items.

You probably have multiple keyboard language layouts configured. Left Alt + Shift is the default toggle between inputs. Or just goto the control panel > languages and delete everything that shouldn't be there.

What are these satchels you speak ofÉ I am intrigued.
For completing a random pre-wrath instance, you get a satchel which contains a blue bind on pickup armor inside it. The stats on the item are fairly random, but it will always be of an armor type that your character can wear. I believe you can only find belts, shoulders, gloves, bracers, boots, rings, necklaces, and cloaks inside the satchel.

Been leveling my druid and ran a couple random dungeons. Oh my god. The satchel drops are glorious.
What? My Mage got shit, shit and more shit. They need to rename it [Bag of Shit]
Anyway let's talk WoW economics. Specifically targeted around the release of the expansion. I'm thinking that enchanters are in line to make a fucking ass-ton of money. Regardless, I feel that hording a lot of useful low level items now... will allow you to control the market and gain extravagant financial success.
Any ideas on this?
DPS cape. Caster cape. DPS gloves. So much nice shit. It's awesome. I've been able to make use of everything that's dropped for me so far.
As a DK those things are, for lack of a better phrase, a mixed bag. I got two pieces of tank stuff and the rest was caster stats through the BC instances. Whatever I didn't get that wasn't caster, was chest or shoulders, and I have heirloom shit for those.
e- Speaking of heirloom shit, I'm not the only one who's had the idea of swapping the two pieces on for quest turn ins for 80-81 when Cat hits, am I? Think it'd work?

"A request for a new password for this World of Warcraft Account has been received. Please follow this link to choose your new password"
So, I just got -that- email
only problem is I'm at work and have been for the past 6 hours. tempted to go to a workstation without bullshit filters and change my password. I have an authenticator as well. didn't click the link in the email. suggestions?
I got one of those yesterday. However, a mouse over that link shows that the website it links to spells world "worldr". It's just phishing, into the junk folder it goes.
Besides, the official password-change function looks like this:
You choose your new password there, you don't apply and have it send an email to your email account and then you follow a link out of the email. "Follow this link to choose your password", indeed. By the time any email has gone out, it's been chosen already. The only way to change your password is to enter your password into the authentic Battle.net site, so even if it DID give you that kind of email notification after it's been changed, it would have to mean someone's already gotten the original password and has access, which doesn't sound like the case if they're trying to get you to follow a link embedded in an email.
Can almost guarantee that email link goes to a fake version of the site, which will look almost exactly like this and pop up that kind of "enter your old password" box, which is exactly what they want you to type into.

Dungeon Satchels: My 65 druid is getting blue crap with itemlevel 60-70. Even if the stats are right for me the items are easily outclassed by green quest rewards (ilvl 90+) or drops in said instances.

I was thinking about this the other day. My priest hit 80 in grizzly hills with all 3 heirloom items. He now has Zul'drak/Sholazar/Storm Peaks/Icecrown full of yellow quests. Wondering if I could complete 25 group quests between these zones then turn them in when Cata hits with all my heirloom gear on.

Like someone already said: Heirlooms probably/maybe won't work 80+
It's true the items do say 1-80 in-game currently, but they may simply be showing the current minimum and maximum levels in the game.
However, it may well be that the tooltip remains true once the expansion launches. It would be a shame if there was a feeling that everyone either everyone had to have the heirlooms to get through to 85 that little bit faster, or for us to extend the experience needed from 80-85 by 20% in the assumption that somehow most people had the Heirlooms.
Let's wait and see what happens. Until the plans are much clearer, or the expansion is actually live and we're able to see how the Heirlooms work in it, I'd personally be a bit cautious in buying experience boosting Heirloom items in advance, just for the hope that they do work from 80-85.
Not that big a deal. It really won't take long to get to 85 without the heirloom shit. 70-80 was a breeze, on my priest anyway. And with the LFD tool, you're going to be running PuGs with some extremely well geared people the first couple weeks it's out as everyone rushes their mains up.

You have NO clue if that's true. Levelling is gonna be a tad different this time they said, remember? With the whole archaeology profession thing, and it being the "Path of the Titans", it could take a month to get those 5 levels. Who knows?

I think remember hearing we'd have to complete a quest chain of some sort to actually advance each level. No automatic ding when you got enough experience. You gotta work for it.

No, I'm fairly sure that was for the Path of the Titans, which is a different process entirely from regular leveling.
Is someone insinuating that leveling in WoW is hard?! Cause I sincerely hope not.
Of course it's not hard now.
What will be required of us for either 1-85 or the Path of the Titans, however, remains to be seen.
I, for one, would openly welcome a challenging quest chain for advancing for each class and role. Tests of tanking, dps'ing or healing capabilities, nothing horrific, but challenging enough to make sure everyone's at least semi-competant in a given role.
Nothing that would lock them out of huge rewards, but nice enough perks (titles, achievements, perhaps some minor mechanical advantages) that could possibly give people a greater incentive to at least learn the bare bones levels of their class/roles.
... or give us elitists another way to pick out the "bads".
Y'know, either way.

Blizzard's MO up to this point has generally been less of the "limit bad players" ideology and more of the "reward everyone equally, given enough time." I think this is why they removed the key restrictions on heroic dungeons and raids. No more attunement quests, etc. The majority of their playerbase (read, casuals) didn't respond well to those kinds of grinds, so I would find it difficult to believe they will have any class-defining quest chains that are very difficult.

I would kill for epic class quests that were actually hard. It could be like the Quel'Delar quest, only without the washing dirty clothes bit in what was supposed to be "an epic quest line".

Hmm....could be. I readily admit I've probably misremembered some of the details. I tend to gloss over a lot of it so I can have fun exploring and figuring it all out in game.
Epic Quests....I miss those from Everquest. Ya they were a pain in the rear(and some of it was just ridiculous) but I enjoyed them immensely. Completing my mage epic in EQ is my fondest memory of the game. I went through hell and back to get it done but it was very satisfying too. Also completely optional so I just did it for funsies. I think if it had been mandatory I'd have strangled someone.
I still have not set foot into Scholozar on my rogue. Place is completely undiscovered. Going to finish as many quests there as I can and not turn em in for Cata! Same with dailies.

Oh em gee, THIS so hard. One of the things I absolutely loved in Everquest and Everquest 2 were the epic quests. (Quests for the epic items - being class defining and all that, yadda yadda).
I would die for quests that rewarded class specific items with uber procs or special abilities on them. Even better if they had insanely long quests leading up the final reward...

I'm absolutely certain that Blues stated that heirlooms will remain at 1-80. New heirlooms will be available at 85 that will cover the new levels in addition to the old.
Heirlooms are meant to help you advance through shit you've already seen before, not let you powerlevel through new content.

Yeah, but quite a bit of WotLK quest greens/blues have little/no Stamina on them, so the massive amounts on the leather heirlooms help.
Getting the leaf on my alt and doing that chain was one of the things I enjoyed most in Vanilla WoW.

My wife has it on the priest she played in vanilla. Her whole guild banded together to get it done for her and another priest they had.
Priest one isn't so much a chain as it is for farming for the trinkets and then doing an incredibly fun quest where you have to keep peasants alive going from point a to point b. And without downranking you still have to watch what you're doing otherwise you'll go oom and fail the quest.
It really makes me want more class specific quests that are tailored to each ones abilities.
