Without going down a rabbit hole that has no end, it's a shame harvesting Little Sisters had so little impact in Bioshock. A simple solution would have been to reward the player significantly for harvesting Little Sisters at the cost of forcing the player to endure a hideously unpleasant harvesting sequence. I mean trauma inducing. Not harvesting them gives the player only a pitiful reward, but they won't be scarred by the experience.
As it was, I'm pretty sure you were rewarded more for saving them. A pity really, as it was otherwise a brilliant game. Including the ending, thank you very much.

Aw, muffins. I forgot to properly backup my Secret Of Monkey Island Save, so now I'm back to 22% done instead of 70%. I know all the puzzle solutions now, but it's annoying to go do them all again.
It seems like I haven't made any progress on my backlog at all. I'm working my way through Demon's Souls, which is great, but I keep interrupting it for different games. I'm a few hours into inFamous, which is good but seems a little repetitive. Still playing Bowser's Inside Story, but I only play at work during lunch or when my wife is hogging the TV for American Idol. A week or two ago I bought Zen Pinball and Critter Crunch with existing PSN money, and I've started each of those. And, now that the GTA4 DLC is confirmed, I've restarted GTA4 to do a trophy run. All while every weekend has been booked up by trips out of town or visitors staying with us. New TV shows (LOST!!!) and more time spent at work isn't helping. I'll be working on this backlog forever.
Oh, I might as mark it down here. If the Saints win the Super Bowl this weekend, I will fall off the wagon for Madden 10, as it will join the SI football and the official hardcover book and the framed Times-Picayune paper and the official champion shirt and all the other crap that I'll buy to remember this season. Hell, even if they lose, I'll probably get Madden 10 anyway.
Crossed Scribblenauts off my list, I realised there was no way I was ever going to 100% the thing. I've beat it and 100%'d several worlds, that's good enough.
Also, lowered my standards. Only have to get 75% of the achievements to be satisfied with a game from now on. 75% = 75% of score and 75% of amount. So usually a bit more than 75%
I don't like to make it a hard number like that, because some achivements are bullshit that I'd never get. I'm not sure what the ratio of like, do-able trophies devs put into their game are, but most are absurd.
That game gets kind of boring after a while. Oh well, it's done now.
About how long does it take to get through it? I've been playing on-and-off while watching TV and making decent progress, but I have no idea how long the game is.

Man, my backlog hates me. I'm getting near the end of ME2, but I'm considering a straight ME1 - ME2 playthrough after it. Maybe I should try to finish Darksiders before that.
I'm thinking about jumping on that Goozex points sale, but if I buy them my next game will get shipped to me (either Bayonetta or Dark Void). I've got too many games to play!
I think Fallout 3 was a good choice with starting this out. I'm absolutely loving the game. The story is actually pretty engaging, which surprises me. I didn't really expect to care much for it, but I find myself getting pretty involved emotionally and really connecting with my character.
Spoilers:
I think my dad dying was nearly on par with Aerith dying in FF7. Also that mutant that helps you in Vault 87 was pretty sad with what he had to go through. And now I find out that the president is really just a computer. After I finished talking with him I saved the game. So now I have to kill Colonel Autumn. This should be crazy. How much more do I have? I hear that when I beat the game I can't do side missions, so I wanna try to get a few more of those out of the way before I end the game. I don't know if I want this to end.

I dunno, I was already pretty scarred by the harvesting experience. I had to look away each time and turn the sound down. I don't scare easily or anything, but I just hated that it was these little girls and I was apparently killing them.

I'd say it was a good move by the game developers to call it "Harvesting" as opposed to simply "Killing". The former sounds much more barbaric.

Great. Not sure what to do exactly, but there are a few missions I skipped just so I could continue the story. I don't know if I want to do them, though.
I am excited to finish the game and see how the story ends. Are there multiple endings, meaning is it worth playing through multiple times? I mainly focused on good Karma in this play through, but would definitely like going through as a baddie. Breaking in and stealing a lot of shit.
Well now that I think about it, I want to make some progress in my backlog. I think I'll just finish off Fallout 3 and then get on to another game. Unfortunately I have loaned out GoW collection as well as AC, the shorter games on my list.

I think I'm strong enough to be able to do so. If not, I'm giving up the game. I don't think finishing this is in my best interest...

Well, I finally found out where I need to go in Phantasy Star, and i'm actually seeing some story progress happening.
I got a pass to get by the guards, got me a new pet critter, and saved Odin from his stone prison cast on him by Medusa. Now it's time to put my newly aquired compass to good use and enter the lost forrest.

i mean it pretty much boils down to "do you wanna talk your way out of this or just kill every one" if i recall correctly. i don't really remember if there are multiple endings anyways, the only reason i created more characters was to be a dick (i played good first) and for achievements
I don't care about trophies really (playing on PS3), so I don't ever actively seek them out. If I get it then I get it. I mean, I am playing through the GoW games to get trophies, but I don't actually plan on playing it until I get them all. Unless I love a game to death, I don't envision myself caring that much.

Finished Bayonetta. I'll certainly be returning to it on-and-off to unlock more stuff or whatnot, but it is moved off the backlog. I was surprised how much fun I had with it. The over-the-top everything was incredibly fun.
So, I am deciding what to focus on next. With my wife returning to the US Saturday night, I'd like to see if there is a 10 hour or less game on my list I can get through before then. Anyone know if any of the following fit the bill?
Call of Duty 4 (PC)
A Boy and His Blob (Wii)
NiGHTS (Wii)
Elebits(Wii)
Ghostbusters (360)
Gears of War 2 (360)
Resident Evil 5 (360)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (360)
Batman:AA (PS3)
Okami (PS2)
YAY! I'm getting ri of the PS2! That means I'm not gonna be able to play around 40 or so games. That's a lot off the backlog list! I'm giving it to a cousin who turns five tomorrow as a present, no job means I can't buy him anything and I have a Wii and 360 too so I'm not out of gaming devices just yet. I just need to find some games for him....
HAHA! I figured someone would call me out on that. I never officially put the PS2 games on the list. I figured those weren't essential to complete since I primarily play the 360. Same with the Wii, DS and PSP stuff. Oh and PC. Basically, I only play the Xbox 360, everything else I'll play once a month, if that.
One more colossus to go in Shadow of the Colossus. I tell you what, I've never come across more poorly designed controls in any game I've ever played. Ever. The game may be the pinnacle of what the PS2 could do in terms of graphics, but as a game it's a shocking pile of garbage.
And that is why I just stopped when I got to the 9th colossus. They were getting hard enough to beat that the controls became a huge problem to me advancing. I liked the puzzle aspect well enough, but it became so annoying to watch my character go all goofy on me when I wanted something important to happen.

CoD4 can be plowed through on Normal in about 6-7 hours. If you want to Veteran it though, it will be closer to 15.

It does seem like there wasn't much thought put into how the character is going to handle. He stumbles and falls around like he's drunk, but can somehow survive falls that should shatter every bone and organ in his body.
I don't blame you at all for stopping at the ninth colossus. I was personally stuck on the eleventh colossus for several months, because the damn thing made me embarrassingly angry. Hopefully the last colossus isn't nearly as frustrating.
Completed Advent Rising and Shadowgrounds Survivor. Enjoyed both of them, flawed as they were: Advent Rising for basically letting you be a space ninja by game's end, snapping necks and tossing energy from your hands, one-shotting enemies in slow mo whilst diving through the air, and SS for being a solid alien shoot-em-up (although the first one was better, saw a post on the Steam forums by one of the developers who admitted SS was sort of a side project).
Also finished up Defense Grid. Man, what a slog that ended up being.
Snuck in one more game in the XBOX 360 section that I already owned (and hadn't currently installed on my HD) to make a nice, round total of 155 games.

Wipeout HD Fury has been pretty much dusted. Played a few Phantom races and I feel I've completed it for backlog purposes, so that's done Which puts me in an odd position.
I've still got a few PS3 games I haven't completed that I feel I should get around to eventually (Folklore, NFS Shift and Demon's Souls for example), but for various reasons I don't want to put them on my list of games to play. Demon's Souls is too damn hard for a quick game, NFS Shift is something I put on every-now-and-again, and Folklore... Well, maybe later :P The story gripped me but the gameplay didn't.
So the PS3 backlog is, at least for the moment... uh... !Complete (PS3)?
So when I get back from work next Friday, might just pick up Bayonetta and Aliens vs Predator!

I'm motoring through Mass Effect way faster than I thought I would, and I figure I'll be done it in the next few days. Of course, I just don't want it to end so I may end up doing another playthrough or two before I mov eon to another game. I think I'm gonna get all the achievements and DLC for sure.
Although I intend to keep playing it, for backlog purposes I've finished Street Fighter IV. I never thought I'd ever like fighting games, but I've been proven wrong in the best possible way.
I'll have another update later today when I finish Shadow of the Colossus.

Different ending
There are only 2 different endings, one "good" and one "evil." I think both are probably on YouTube somewhere.
And you can only harvest 3 or 2 little sisters at MOST to get the good ending. Any more than that and you are eeeeeevil.
As it was, I'm pretty sure you were rewarded more for saving them. A pity really, as it was otherwise a brilliant game. Including the ending, thank you very much.

Wipeout HD Fury has been pretty much dusted. Played a few Phantom races and I feel I've completed it for backlog purposes, so that's done
Although I intend to keep playing it, for backlog purposes I've finished Street Fighter IV. I never thought I'd ever like fighting games, but I've been proven wrong in the best possible way.
I'll have another update later today when I finish Shadow of the Colossus.
