I finished Okami this evening. What a wonderful game. I'm glad I started it up again.

I'm going to buy Phoenix Wright on WiiWare however I don't count that as falling off the wagon. I've already beaten Phoenix Wright (several times) on the DS so it won't go on my backlog.

    Updated list for new thread:

Beaten: Defined as the completion of the main story, quest, or gameplay mode. Completing 100% in achievements/trophies (if available) is not required for a game to be considered "beaten." In the case of sports, racing, fighting, puzzle, MMORPG, or other such non-linear or non-story based games, the status of "beaten" will be conferred upon degree of personal satisfaction of game's requirements and/or the unlocking of bonus items/costumes/tracks/rewards.

Just finished Alien Shooter 2. It was a really fun game that was way better than the first in every way imaginable. I really liked this one. The weapon upgrade system was pretty satisfying to use, and the leveling made killing millions of aliens seem a little more pointful. I really recommend it.

Next I'm going on to Audiosurf. Any recommendations for how to call it "complete"? I'm thinking of making it a little ambiguous like, "explore the game", meaning I try out each racer for a song or two so I have a good idea what all the content is. I doubt I'm good enough to get many achievements :)

That's a pretty difficult one and I'd be hesitant to put it on the backlog if you're not familar with the game. I've had it a few months post-launch and I still play it at least once or twice a week. I find it's something to play when you're not playing games, if that makes sense.

There are a lot of games that I simply don't count as backlog games. I've never finished Mighty Flip Champs, Pictobits, Orbient and ton others but they are puzzle games. They are made to pick up and play whenever, not finish and move on. In my opinion puzzle games, fighting games, racing games, rhythm games, sports games, multiplayer games, and sandbox games simply don't count.

Maybe that's why my backlog is only 16. Most games don't even count. 8-)

I have MySims Kingdom on my list but honestly I don't think it counts.

Booyah! Kicked Castlevania's ass last night, up to the boss on Stage Five now :) It seems kind of unfair that your only real attack is a forward whip (can't aim at angles) while the boss zooms in the air around the stage throwing spinny sickles at you that travel in all directions.

The stage itself is pretty easy though, and I had the boss just below half-health in my best match-up so far, so I can see myself nailing him tonight :)

edit: Looking through the FAQ of the game though, I've missed a lot of content, so it may be worth a second play through

I don't know, I kinda liked it. The action was lacking, but I was captivated by how awesome everything looked. The Reichstag was cool as shit. Plus, I'm a big history buff and just thinking about that whole era and what it must have been like to live through it distracted me a bit.

My favorite part of that game was raiding Shurijo Castle. When I lived in Japan I went down to Okinawa for a weekend and that was one of the places I saw. It's been completely rebuilt and looks really cool. It was built on the ruins of the old castle (cause it was bombed to shit.) They have some spots where the floor is plexiglass so you can see some of the old structure.

Oh, and fuck me KotOR doesn't do widescreen it looks like. Damn these old XBox games. Oh well, I will still love you, Old Republic.

Criterion are busy making a new NFS. Don't bother looking at the news "leaked" today though, as it's already been outed as fake.

Can you believe that, though? Going from the makers of GT2 to the makers of BOOOOM-CRAAAASH-KABLAMO HIGHSCOREEEEE! I'm not saying it was a bad decision, just going from reboot to reboot. Shift was my favourite racer serious last year, even if I didn't put all that much time into it.

edit: While I'm thinking about a future Paradise sequel, I'd like to see some inspiration from Wipeout. Paradise meets Pacific Rift meets Wipeout HD? That'd be just about the PERFECT arcade racer.

Tried all the characters in Audiosurf. I think I can't handle too many colors and gravitate towards the Ninja modes, although Pusher is pretty fun too. I'll probably spend most of my time on Ninja Mono Pro with Hardcore on (having shoulders seems like cheating). Very fun game.

Not sure what I'll play next. I'm thinking either Monkey Island, Fate of Atlantis, or Crysis Warhead.
