So what exactly is Bazillions from? Pillow Talk is obvious... but I can't think of anything Bazillions would be referencing, or maybe it's just made up?
In a way, I'm kinda sad that NSC wasn't a "Dante Must Die" kind of mode. I actually thought they may have used the 3-5 orb health system for that mode.
It would have made me feel like a man, because I never touched any mode Hard or Above ( :winky: ) in any of the DMC games.
You know, I was thinking. Sega would be really smart to cut a deal with the guy who's doing that NSIC gaze of despair pure platinum run. Pay him whatever he wants to run a commercial of 1 minute of, say, that video where he fights the 3 joys... All while having "THIS IS 100% RAW GAME FOOTAGE" at the bottom of the screen.

Isn't that essentially what the Strategy Guide trailer is trying to do?
I was too busy making stupid jokes about Luka (Like when he first grappling hooked up in chapter 2: "Hm, he lives up stairs... I think I've seen him before") to be distracted by him.
And I wanted to hate Cereza for introducing an escort segment to the game, but she's too damn cute. Whoever did her voice acting was spot-on.

Yeah, but aimed at people who already have the game. The only commercials I've seen for Bayonetta (trying to sell the game to people who don't have it) were half cutscene, when really this game should be selling itself on its gameply. The cutscenes are just icing on the cake.

My favourite Luka moment in the entire game is "THE TRUTH WILL BRING THE TRUTH TO THE TRUTH SO THAT THE TRUTH WHICH IS THE TRUTH WILL REVEAL TO BE THE TRUTH THAT BRINGS THE TRUTH TO THE LIGHT. OF TRUTH." and then he grabs her ass.

I still find it hilarious that Luka was introduced with sparkles.

So apparently the PS3 version is getting an update to install the game, which will reduce loading times. If it's favorably received, I might just grab a copy. I've been getting more interested in these types of games lately.
So what exactly is Bazillions from? Pillow Talk is obvious... but I can't think of anything Bazillions would be referencing, or maybe it's just made up?

I just thought it was bazillions of guns.
Ie just a silly word name.
It's got b move pew pew on the feet and freespace 2 beam cannons from the punch I mean it's got all the best gun types right there!
NSC is a Dante must Die mode. You don't have witch time, enemies have ridiculous guard that is hard to stun them with, have new attacks, bosses have new attacks and they do ridiculous damage.
It's Dante Must Die mode.
The thing is that Devil May Cry games tend to have the enemies go from punching bag to uninterruptible death machine in dante must die mode. So there's a bigger "jump" as it were in difficulty. Suddenly you have to dodge and have no choice.
Whereas you've always had to dodge right from the get go in normal so you are used to having to dodge by NSC. The game has taught you how to dodge so when they remove witch time it's not as big of a deal as you think. It's a sign of better difficulty grading within the game itself, rather than not having a hard difficulty. Cos seriously, it is hard. It really is. Try it without rosary and with just say the scarborough fair and come back and tell me nsc is easy. :P

(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
Managed to finish the Torture Attack Alfheim (thanks guys!) and now I'm stuck on the Weave Attack one.
I can clear the Affinities fine (using Shuraba's PKP), but those two Fairness give me lots of trouble. And I always seem to get chewed on, even though I'm dodging... Could I be dodging too early?
PKP with the sword is great because the wicked weave can hit multiple people.
PPKKK(with any weapon really) is great because the last two kicks are wicked weaves which is great for straight up damage.
You have to be careful because they can interrupt your combo with a bite that comes out of nowhere and I find it pretty hard to get witchtime on their bite. So play a keep away game poking with PKP. When you see one fireballing that's your cue to dodge, witchtime, and go for some heavy damage. Once one goes down, the other is much easier. Another attack you can exploit is sometimes they'll go for a charging headbutt. If you dodge and they hit a wall they get stunned for a bit. Meaning you can attack with worrying about that one attacking back, or attack the other Fairness without worrying about being backstabbed.
It is possible you are dodging too early, but if you dodge continually/rapidly I'm not sure they can catch you between dodges.

Do ppkp. Try to dodge offset the kick.
This will knock one into the air. Watch out for the other one while you repeat this on the one in the air.
Also if you have any magic, and can do back forward stomp or backforward punch with shuruba, do eeeet.
Also the spinning shoryuken since it knocks them up. Abuse the weaves that knock them up. If you are lucky, you might catch both of them at once.

Don't know if it was mentioned but the PS3 is getting an update to allow an install.
I just hope
-it's less than 5GB and
-it actually has an effect.
'Cause those load times are pretty phenomenal.

IMO the whole game is gradually winding you up to trying to do NSC mode. First they introduce dodging plus witch time just to give you time to use the combo system in an uninterrupted fashion, then they give you the secondary block mechanism that you'll be using the rest of the game (moon), then they give you hard mode with some early witch-time free fights as though to say "here's the standard", then they gradually wean you off it until by NSC you're ready. I think it's pretty rad.
EDIT: And the aflheims are good practice for enemy types. The wicked weave ones are great practice for the flaming angels you get in chapter 3 that were annoying as shit the first time I fought them - second time round, easy as pie having done the aflheim. I think in general this game is remarkably well designed, especially considering the traditional japanese approach

Gah, it figures. Just as I'm finally getting fatigued of the game they release this patch. At least it won't sound like my PS3 is dying anymore when I play.
Posts
That's not a rhetorical question. I'm not sure how incredible it would be, but it's a thought.
turn off witch time and patch out the kilgore glitch and it has the potential to be ridiculously awesome
Let them keep it.
ah-HAH fighting games.

Just listen to this theme:
Cereza's theme
luka was way worse, though
the action ground to a halt every time his dopey ass came onscreen
Isn't that essentially what the Strategy Guide trailer is trying to do?

I also was moderately amused by Anime Joe Pesci.
Make of that what you will.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Are there videos?

There are literally hundreds of games where a mode like this would be and should be implemented.
Bayonetta is definitely one of them.
Press up down left right square for Confetti! 360 Punch for Lights!
Oh oh or a style off mode. Where you get given a hapless angel and have to do better (read stylish) than the other guy at killing it.
There's lots of room to try things like that. Frankly it's something I'm shocked Devil May cry never implemented especially in 4.
Coran Attack!
you can't
i dunno why that third slot is there, honestly
she wears them on her arms and she's only got two
The easy accessory goes there.

so when is this update? Soon? And yes the load times are gnarly.

I've been trying to avoid using the katana, but that and the rosary got me through first time I hooked them on. :?
That's harder,right?
