Question for you folks, maybe you can help me figure out this issue I've come up with - tried searching which came up with nothing, so if this has been answered and my searching skills are merely weak, I apologize.

My husband asked me to do his easy-mode run for whatever accessory he wants. I'm cool with that. So, I've been working my way through it the last couple days. Today, got to Fortitudo.

Okay. So, in this fight the game is acting as if I have the immortal marionette equipped all of a sudden. I do not - I took it off on the first level because that thing was driving me nuts. I've been just fine through the rest of the levels - game lets me do whatever it is I'm trying to do, which is great. All of a sudden in this boss fight, it's pulling out completely random wicked weaves, turning me into a panther when I just want to dodge, etc. - essentially, all the reasons I took off the immortal marionette in the first place.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions with this? Is this just a Fortitudo-on-easy thing, or is this (I pray not) a boss-on-easy thing? Also, is there anything I can do about it besides curse a lot?

I may be able to answer this question in a couple of days - I've bought the game for my sister for her birthday, and I have a feeling she might start on Easy to get her feet wet.

If you switch to Easy in the Chapter Select, does it give you the Immortal Marionette accessory? If so, just about anyone can just hop into said chapter, select 'Easy', and try out the fight themselves.

Well in big boss fights like this one all your attacks become wicked weaves. Dunno about panther form though.. maybe you panick when trying to dodge and press the button twice in a row?

I thought it was the marionette acting up again, but I'm not sure. I don't usually have the double-tap problem on the dodge button. I can try doing it again and seeing what happens, I just honestly feel like I'd rather not have all the weaves all the time.

I'll play with it a little and see what comes of it. It might just be the boss-thing, but if so I'd like to say that that's really annoying. I guess that makes me a control freak.

Thanks to all you guys for your help. =)

EDIT: update - found my trouble with the panther thing. My husband had gotten me this morning to equip the time bracelet to try it out. He'd told me that it would be witch time on command, plus what I was doing anyway. It isn't - witch time is apparently on LB only with the time accessory. So, I was overpressing RT, because I kept not being able to hit witch time with a dodge when I thought I should be. Taking off the time bracelet has solved that problem. The weave thing sounds like it's just meant to be that way - I don't like it, but not much I can do about that one.

Against all the giant bosses, all your attacks are weaves since they're too big and too far to actually hit otherwise. It makes the fights more interesting.

This guy is better at the game than I ever will be.

He's good at dodging but his general play feels like it lacks fun.

I know I know I'm criticising someone better than me at dodging but he really does just do the same thing for every creature.

    pppkkk or ppppk.
    It's boring to watch.

    although his dodges are fantastic.

A true master at this game would be a dream to watch and good at dodging, as far as I'm concerned.

    I tell you what tho.

Chapter 2 jeanne on hard is a right pissoff if you are trying to get by with no damage.

I ended up just being happy with reduced damage.

Her "die!" weave is so fast and I can't see her warning signs. I can see the stomp but not the uppercut one.

So. Apparently from what I'm hearing from the VGI thread. Bayonetta 2 is going to be made but its going to be WiiU exclusive. Story being that it has been scrapped altogether by Sega and Nintendo picked it up.

Have to say I'm quite conflicted about this. I'll give props to Nintendo for giving the game a chance and they usually treat their published titles right. But I can't say I ever get a console for just one game, sadly Bayonetta isn't an exception. Hopefully one of my friends will get a WiiU so I can play it then.

Oh well...this probably the best and worst news I've heard this morning.

Edit: Couldn't find the other thread I think it was closed, but this one works well enough.

I will spend $350(or sucker family members into spending alot of money on me for my birthday) so I can play the next installment of the greatest beat em up ever made. Also the WiiU will launch with ZombiU so there's two games I can play!

Yeah, this makes me 99% sure to be buying a WiiU and I had zero interest in it. That last 1% is pretty importnat tho; it needs to have comparable graphics to the first, better have the same design team and I can't imagine playing it on the tablet controller thingy.

This made me sad. I can't spend so much on a console just for this one game. It's too much. I was really hoping for it on everything, and now I am sad. Glad to see it's being made and being released of course. Just disappointed in the Wii U onlyness of it.

That's the thing with this game, Sega junked it, and Plat wasn't going to get the chance to finish it. Nintendo offered to front the money and publish it, so in effect they saved it from the 'could of been' pile the all companies have laying around.

Fans of the first game should be thanking Nintendo for working with Platinum and Sega to make this happen.

So, the WiiU has now picked up Bayonetta 2 and the version of Ninja Gaiden 3 that isn't dogshit?

Weird turn of events there. I didn't realize that when Nintendo decided to rejigger their intended demographics with that system that they would very specifically be targeting me.

I dont think its possible for any version of Ninja Gaiden 3 to not be dogshit. Unless they're calling it Ninja Gaiden 3 because the disc contains Ninja Gaiden 1+2.

Problem is, if Bayonetta couldn't do really well on PS3/360, what chance does it have being an exclusive on a brand new system that the franchises current fanbase doesn't own? It's great that Nintendo saved it and all but there's a pretty good chance it'll still result in the series dying.

Ah well, I still have no intention of buying a Wii U but at least it has three games I'm interested in (both Platinum's games and Pikmin 3).

Nintendo want to give core gamers a reason to get the system too. Bayonetta 2 is a really good reason.
