As of a few weeks ago, my computer has started to randomly restart itself, saying "Frequency Overrange". This only happens when using IE -- I thought it might be IE6, so I upgraded to IE7 and it still occurs. Also, whatever is causing this also doesn't allow Disk Defragmenter to run. And additionally, whenever trying to run IE, the first page opened seems to always freeze -- I have to open a second window for it to do anything. I'm not quite sure on that last one, since it only seemed to start yesterday.
What could be causing this? A virus? If so, are there any free anti-virus software I could use? I'm sure my computer is not overheating, so I do not think it is that...
As for the frequency overrange, The Google tells me it's probably got something to do with you having set your display refresh rate too high, but that doesn't really make any sense if it's happening randomly. See what AVG says.
