Well there will most likely be someone always over there camping Hadden & Varsoon. Hmm, would anyone even want the fishbone earring? Is Kedge Keep even in the game?

Yes, but the pathing in Kedge is worse than in Live (i hear). I'm gonna try putting a group together for Kedge in the next week or two. Hopefully I wont die too much.

kedge is an agro disaster. As soon as you zone in half the zone agros.
Man screw all you guys, Qeynos/Surefall Glade & Qeynos Hills is the best starting area in the game. Followed by Ak'Anon and Steamfont Mountains. Hmm actually now that I think about it Steamfont might be better than Qeynos Hills.. all those kobold camps, followed by the windmill highway, followed by the minotaur caves, and a chance at minotaur axes... thats some good shit.

Whether they find a life there or not, I think Jupiter should be called an enemy planet.
Is anyone else having problems with the animations? As in suddenly the monsters aren't animated at all, just a bunch of frozen figures floating about on the landscape? It's seriously freaking me out.

Things are acting a little strangely on my end. Yesterday it ran perfectly. Today? Not so much. I had the client crash on me 4 times now, the framerate has become, for lack of a better word, jumpy, and the characters only animate on rare and special occasions. Bleh.
The closest I can come to an answer to these problems is it's a processor affinity issue. Trouble is, EQ doesn't allow you to set affinity from the task manager. This in itself wouldn't be a problem if I could remember what I did back in the day to permanently set a program to a single core, but damn...I haven't had to use it in so long, I can't remember how to do it or how to find info on it.
I'll see if it's still acting weird after a reboot. If not, I'll just have to endure the weirdness, I guess.

I'll tell you right now sudden client crashes are becoming a common problem. There's a thread on the forums in tech issues. It happened to me the other day in paw and scared the shit out of me. No one wants to log into the depths of Splitpaw to find they are all alone and surrounded by gnolls.
I have gotten a couple random crashes. Fortunately, they haven't been at bad times. I've also had times were the client runs perfectly for 10 hours straight.
I ran around with those 4 spectres in tow incase you came back so you could snare em without worrying about them catching up. That bard stood there watching me for 10 minutes wondering wtf I was doing. I found it amusing.
Most crashes I've had were resolved after a driver update for my graphics card and I now use WinEQ. The only thing that has plagued me since then is just completely random client crashes. No warning, no error message, just basically like I typed /ex. I started camping out instead of /ex, and so far this new UI I've been using has stopped those crashes, but really it's possible its doing nothing and I've just been lucky. It's pretty anyway, so I'm keeping it.
And now a rant.
I was out in NK kiting griffs/giants, and I usually go take down Zahal the Vile when he's up, every four hours or so. He wasn't around, but the guy who spawns after you down Zahal was up in multiples, about 8 by my count. More often than not, I just leave him be, but I had actually helped a cleric kill him earlier that week and figured any class without track would probably get steamrolled by 8 of these guys, I decided to cull their numbers. I got about 4 ticks of exp. It was good.
I kid you not, 2 and a half hours later, I get a tell from a druid in zone asking if I had killed those 8 mobs, I told him yes, and wow.. here comes the tears. He actually was very upset at what I did. Apparently it was in his plans to kill one so he could quest the bracer that night. He actually had the chance to get the items earlier that day, but decided to leave and do other things until now. He kept going on about how I ruined his night, and how its retarded that I killed these mobs because apparently they're not up for grabs if you're not doing the quest, etc. 8 of these mobs stacked together means noone had killed him for 32+ hours by the way.
Friday nights, I tell ya. Apparently Gandite and Drut had some issues with the most powerful mage in all of Unrest last night too. wow.
Haha yeah that was funny man. The guy got trained by 2 (5) mobs and started raging about our suckiness because we couldn't handle the basement at 40. Admittedly I made a stupid mistake and pulled the pit, then learned from the mistake. Guy logs back in on his rogue, pickpockets our pulls and continues to be hilarious.
Eventually gets bored and goes back on his mage to try and kill what he can near us, gets cocky, overpulls and has to train to zone.
He shut up after that.
Wish I could go into a secluded area and solo like a bard/necro/shaman etc, running into asshats is far less common but apparently not unheard of.
If you guys want to get Exquisite going again look for Eepa. Just saw him today and he can reinvite people ot exquisite
Yeah I'll stay in the guild just in case anyone wants to get it going again. Add Eepa or Sean to your friends list either way.

Damn Drut sorry I left you hanging with those specs. I tried to log back in but the client was giving me shit so I went and got sauced while watching some Top Gear.
edit: I should know better than to try and kite while its storming outside. Logged back in after LD to discover I lost my level. Again. Le sigh.

Goons have a lot of stigma attached to them but that doesn't mean they are universally douchers. They are like any high end raiding guild I've been in. Thick skin is necessary and you need to be able to laugh at yourself as well as others.
I've got my trusty shitty hammer, a backpack full of backpacks (I never quite figured out how that worked), and 6 levels behind me. I feel like I'm ready to TAKE ON THE DAMN WORLD! >:(
It's kind of a shame none of you cept Walrus are newbie leveled. I want to get into big groups and beat the everliving hell out of anything that crosses my path. Spawn camping is only so fun for so long.
I've played with Goons in Tribes 2, Eve, and a few other games I can't think of at the moment and they've always been good to me. Lot of laughs and while they may not give a shit about most people outside their clique, to their own and their friends they're pretty damn loyal. From what I've seen. :P

Do / all class x-y
x being the minimum level you want to group with, y being the highest. I haven't played a single night where I haven't gotten at least 2-3 6 man groups.

Ugh first ever group in lower guk. Warrior is terrible. Can't hold agro and is a tool shed in general. Trains like 8 icebone skellies back to the group. Druid immediately gates himself out leaving the rest of us. Warrior starts training to the zone line and dies. Monk FDs, Necro FDs, and I evacc everyone whos left to NK.
Then the necro bitches me out because she could just FD and how has to run back after I port us. I should have ported everyone to fucking Tox and left them there. All that for like 3 or 4 blues of xp. I seriously do not see myself getting to 50 before Kunark. Also 850 peeps online tonight!

There really, absolutely is no hurry whatsoever .
What I love about this game is that content doesn't get 'phased out' or replaced like in WoW. Lower Guk, the Plains, and all your favorite classic zones will still be worth visiting after the expansions hit.
I am especially excited about exploring Kunark again. That continent is home to many of my favorite zones and quests =]
Man I really want to level up my Ranger, but god the hybrid penalty is killing me. Only level 11 so far so that doesn't bode well.
Oh man, I was ranger back in the day. I hated it
I had a Halfling Ranger for a while, and that was fun as far as I recall. Then I started my Barb Shaman and never looked back. Gonna try sticking with it until I can dual wield and go from there. Might have to pick up my Troll War again, but from everything I hear so far warriors struggle to hold agro.

It better not be the druids because they have a really shitty damage shield.
