Heh, when this game isn't dick-in-blender painful, it's incredibly fun. Last night I was sniping (FAL/Thermal/Silencer) from a decline on a rooftop on Rundown. Sniped for a good 5 minutes, until I ran out of ammo. Then I sprinted from cover to cover hoping to find a weapon. Finally came up on some dude with an LMG - Sprint, Stab, Steal. Killed 2 more with the weapon I had recently acquired, got my Fearless challenge and a promotion right before the game ended. Good times.
Also, am I doing this right?
Yes, very much so.
though, I'd swap that FAL/GL out for some other gun/GL because it is difficult to save yourself when you're in an "out of grenades" scenario with a FAL.
Oh, yeah. That makes sense. It would have to be the SCAR, as that's the only weapon I have the GL unlocked for (Well, maybe the M4A1 as well). I'm leaning towards replacing all of those classes with AUG equivalents as soon as I unlock all the shit for it. Except for my FAL Thermal/Silenced. That's a blast.
I like the iron sights on the M4, the Scar, and the AK. for most other guns, the irons are ok, but I'd rather use a red dot or holographic.
Last night I rocked a few matches with a silenced SCAR using iron sights. The people that mentioned it were right, they are pretty good.
I just unlocked the ACR and I think that has great iron sights, perhaps my favorite. Once I unlock the silencer, I'll try replacing the SCAR with the ACR.
Also to the earlier bit about the Predator missile, I find it to be mostly useless in multiplayer, usually getting 0 or 1 kills. I can do that without any help. The only time it's good is if there happens to be a group of people with no cover or obstacles near them. Then it's fun.

Agreed. The Sentry gun is pretty great, as long as you know where to put it. Just keep an eye on it, since Cold Blooded Characters can just stroll up to the bad boy and knock it out. Putting it in door frames on Skidrow is fantastic fun. Set up a couple of claymores around the right corners on the way to your Sentry Gun and bam, free kills.
Or, if you're lucky enough, getting two Sentry guns, at once, with Care Package.
That shit is fucking hilarious.

If you have the airstrike as your next killstreak (grinding out killstreak rewards, for instance), the predator is a free killstreak upgrade. Otherwise, yes, it can be hard to hit more than one person with.
I'm working on Steady Aim VI now, and I think after that I may prestige. Most of the challenges I can easily do are done, so moving on to more guitar riff action is probably a good thing.
Sorry to the guy who invited me last night for ducking out after a few games. The wine took my C- skills to F territory, and I wanted to play a game or two before I quit where I didn't come in last

That was me. No worries, the majority of the games we got dropped into were crap, so I don't blame you for leaving. Ground war is pretty hit or miss for me. Some games its good times, others I'm terrible. I suppose it really helps to have a strong team going; it's difficult for two people to make a big impact.
Got my "What the... ?" achievement last night on Highrise during Domination. Someone thought they'd be clever and put a claymore near B in the little powerplant section. They didn't count on Sitrep and FMJ.

Killing someone by shooting an explosive through a wall.

This morning I had a care package containing an ac-130 crush an enemy after I narrowly avoided being crushed by a team mates package that also contained an ac-130, great fun.
I recently started using the M16 and I'm doing worse than I was doing with the M4 or the SCAR.
Well there's your problem right there...
EDIT
And SitRep is great.
Man the M14 is epic awesome.
I have gone through pretty much every level I have played using either the FAMAS or the M14. Those guns are SO f'ing good, especially with stopping power.

I'm not on right now, so I can't check, but is the ACOG available for the AUG? I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be, I just haven't looked yet.
Yes, it can use the ACOG.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
With SP at long range its 2 hits max for RPD. Love just squeezing off a small burst and bringing down a group from across the map, but yeah, as stated before needs grip, the IRONS are great though so is not a big deal.
I really don't know why they put ACOGs on the SMGs, its such a pain to use them to get the (equally) pointless thermal scope. I'd rather have an extended stock or something like that that increases accuracy and mobility.
I was just reading something about a wall glitch in Wasteland and a few comments about how IW has done a terrible job in terms of glitches/bugs.
To play devil's advocate for a moment, though, let's think about this - what if (bear with me here) MW2 is actually par for the course in terms of bugs and glitches? I can't think of _any_ game that makes it out the door 100% clean and free of any sort of unplanned error. Are we finding more bugs and glitches just because of the sheer volume of play time / players this game is seeing?
The thing is, MW2 has moved one metric shit-ton of units. The vast majority of people are playing on multiplayer, which means they're working with a very, very short list of levels. Play time is in the days for online games, unlike the 10-40 hours you might see in a normal single player game.
Is IW _really_ that bad at putting out a polished product or are all these glitches ones that might go unnoticed if it wasn't for the millions of people playing the same maps day after day after day after day?
Edit: I'm referring to what I would consider "real" glitches, like being able to hump a wall and magically clip your way into some unknown part of the map. What some people considering glitches, ie, care package running, are design choices that people exploit in the game. IMO

Would an "extended" stock really increase accuracy? Wouldn't it just make it look like you were running akimbo but still had the weapon shouldered? Does bigger always equal better? :P
Anywho, spawning at C on Estate can eat a dick and the Raffica is the best thing in a video game since big Rygar.

I think it's pretty conclusive that QA is lax when even after two patches after release, they still don't spell 'grenade launcher' correctly on one of the guns.
Yes, as with every game, as soon as you release it there's going to be far more man-hours put into it in a week than you could do in QA in six months. However, given how quickly some of this stuff was found, and how elementary some of it is, it's laughable. You can use OMA to clip a riot shield through a sentry gun, making you invincible from the front. With an ability like OMA that allows you to swap your loadout anywhere in the map, the possibility of changing to a class that could exploit this should have been tested thoroughly, especially to the point of 'actions available while changing class'. Of course, it should be 'none'. However, you can grab a turret. QA failed on that one, and it's not the only one.
Shooting a chopper while it's falling results in stupid amounts of XP, and a chopper kill for each hit. Not only is that lazy programming, this is the kind of stuff you test just as a matter of course. I understand that it's a giant game, and I appreciate that it's nearly impossible to balance something with as many variables as care packages and perks and weapon attachments provide. But it's blatantly obvious that there wasn't enough time spent on testing and it was poorly managed.

On the LMG convo: after mastering them all, I'd say the RPD and AUG are the best, with the M4 being the worst. Always use a grip. They're meant for a slower pace, excellent for defending on objective gametypes.
L86 gets special mentions because it has a unique ACOG scope and it's BRITISH.

All of this, plus, their response time in general has been terrible post-release as has their community involvement. There was someone here from IW posting about the game and creating hype before the game came out, so why don't we still have someone here listening to the complaints (ok, they may be listening) and responding to us letting us know what they are doing about it? It would take about 45 seconds to put together something like "yeah, we know this is broken and we are fixing it" and it would make all the difference in the world. But, nothing.

whoops, first playthrough seems like ages ago.
silenced RPD is better than sex.
I find the problem with the RPD is without grip, the 3rd shot bounces off target.
What's a good tactic here? Kinda hang back, provide covering fire?
Yes, it can use the ACOG.
Yes it is, 150 normal kills to unlock.
