Not that I'd read or heard specifically. Might have glossed over that detail a little bit, but I hadn't heard/read this until at least a week or two ago.

It's something I just don't understand. Bioshock 2 is a big release and that's going to be released simultaneously in the different regions. Mass Effect 2 is just as big, probably bigger, and they're staggering the release dates.

Wish they'd stuck with synthy music

um they did? They are using the same 80's sci-fi style they used in he first game, just better.

There's a lot more badly sampled strings than I remember.

Oh, thanks for that. I found the wiki before but I didn't realize there were that detailed articles on, well...most things.

It is bad that in my exam diary I've devoted more space to "MASS EFFECT 2 OUT TODAY :D" than my very very important exams on the 29th? And sod UK release dates.

And I hope they do a fleshed out scenario for having no love interest, or having that love interest die on Virmire. I doubt many people didn't choose one though.

Games always come out on Fridays here, always you'll get it thursday if you preordered online retailer, it's the same thing with music, they always come out on a Monday like today with the me2 ost and it's tomorrow for the USA.

I never chose a love interest, I don't really feel that every story needs a love interest, so it seemed kinda superfluous to me.

Well, I preordered my MA2 via Gamestops online store. Accounting for the 2-3 days shipping I plan on having my copy by the 29thish.

    MA2?

And listening to the OST some more, it's not that bad - just the normandy reborn theme that irritates me

    Thane's theme kicks ass.

I hope they have more music akin to the credits track in ME as that was the ultimate shit.

In other news, who will be cheating on their previous? I don't want to cheat on Ash but Miranda is hotter by far, which shouldn't tempt me but really does.

See, at this rate my Shepard is going to have a fetish for xenophobic women by bed-hopping from Ash to Miranda to... Whoever we get in ME3.

    If they play the whole:
    Shepard died
thing well enough then it might end up being just like Castaway, which I felt was a really, really hard scene to watch.

I wonder what the end credits for this game will be.

But the digital delux on Steam also comes with it. So if you bought that, don't buy it on iTunes as well.

    I like both really.

But, imo, the ending to part I(where everything is just ramped up) should have lasted a bit longer.

The soundtrack on amazon has 27 tracks, the one that comes with the digital download version of the game has only 12.

    OH CASEY, YOU CARD.

You're not actually supposed to say this out loud as a lead game developer for both platforms.
TC: In Dragon Age, there were some marked differences in the challenge level and how some of the battles played out on different platforms. Are there also differences like that in Mass Effect 2? Did you guys have to change the design or the combat system for any of the platforms?

CH: I don't think there's a difference between the two platforms. One of the differences between a PC and a console for a shooter is that the mouse ends up being a more immediate and a more precise device.

Everyone knows that the mouse makes playing a shooter easier. If you say it doesn't then you're lying or wierd. On the other hand, a console is cheaper, less likely to fuck up and you don't have to upgrade all the time.

    End of debate.

Less likely to fuck up? You've obviously never owned a xbox 360! Every day requires a sacrifice to the gods of luck that a RROD won't occur.

Yeah. I mean I play mainly on console and I know kb/m is better for shooters.

Either way, no need to debate it.

You know, speaking of the music in Mass Effect 1, it's well worth comparing it to the soundtrack to the first couple of seasons of Babylon 5. The resemblance is uncanny.
