After a bit of fiddling with network setups and such, I'm looking to setup a really basic media serving system so I can access my stuff from mainly two places; firstly, I'd like to be able to stream my content to my PS3 through local network, so that means I need DLNA support. Secondly, I'd like to be able to stream my content to my laptop (which is usually running some variant of Linux) via the internet. All this from my home PC running Windows 7.
So basically, I'm looking for some sort of media server software that runs within Windows, that will allow me to do all of the above. Ideas?
Windows Media Player will run a media server that the PS3 can access just fine, as long as the media itself is in the correct format. No idea what will work with Linux. A second option is TVersity.
