My Throat! Argh!

So, two nights ago or so, I got stomach sick pretty bad in the middle of the night, threw up and felt better.

Except for my throat. My throat felt as through I had swallowed a cat, and during the throwing up process, it had clawed its way out up through my mouth and escaped.

I've never had a sore throat after getting sick before. I'm assuming its like...stomach acid burn or something. Nothing else really makes sense. Its not affecting me really - I can talk, breath, eat and drink normally, but just not comfortably. It hurts all the time, and I'd really like it to...y'know...not hurt.

Is there a way to accelerate the healing process or some kind of medicine that'll make my throat not feel terrible while it heals normally?

How did it happen? Did you choke while retching?

I just had the same thing happen to me. Maybe try dabbing a bit of anbesol back there with a swab?

Maybe drink orange juice or eat an orange. This works for me.

Alternatively or additionally gargle a soluble asprin disolved in a mouthfull of water. As taught to me by my pharmacist wife. (unlike the salt water, swallow don't spit after gargling).

salt water. If you're feeling ambitious get some oil of oregano for it, but that'll probably take too long to arrive to be much help.

Don't use the spray numbing shit.

Yeah, you don't want to actually stop the pain, it's not like that's why you started this topic.

Generally speaking it hurts for a reason, i.e. a viral or bacterial infection. Numbing it isn't going to make that better.

but I suppose it could just be an acid burn. go ahead.
