[Linux] Software RAID

electricitylikesmeelectricitylikesme Registered User regular
So I just bought a 20-disk hot-swappable case for my server. And now I have a conumdrum: clearly I want to go with software RAID for this system since I don't trust motherboard raid and raid cards that I have.

How do I set this up in Linux? I know I'm supposed to use mdadm but I would really really like to have some type of GUI to use with configuring all of this. Is there a better way, a different way - what should I do?

The SuSe installer will walk you through it in a GUI. Not sure what other options exist for different distros

The Ubuntu alternate installer also has the option to set up RAID.
