Last time I was in LA, my buddies and I were going to go see Avatar in IMAX 3D so we decided to meet up and get some dinner first. We pick this new local Italian place and walk in and the guy says "hey guys, we have a large party coming in a little bit so unless you want to deal with the noise I suggest you sit on this side of the restaurant" so we sit down and after about 5 minutes a police car pulls up and they come inside. Then another one. And another. Eventually the entire place was filled with police from the surrounding cities. There must have been at least 50 of them and the parking lot was totally packed with police cruisers. Including one that parked about 3 inches off of my driver-side door.

So when my buddies and I all get up to leave and walk outside...we all just stood there for a moment. Do I go back inside to find out which policeman it was and get him to move his dumb car, or do I climb in through the passenger side with a bunch of police watching me through the window. It was all terribly awkward, but I ended up deciding to just go through the passenger door. It would have been an easier decision if I wasn't such a fatass.

Yeah the only problem with driving small cars is that it leaves more space for all of the jackasses out there who drive pointless SUVs. Yeah I am talking to you.

I'm almost wholly convinced by now that I have no idea what I'm doing in art, and am simply coasting. Like it's always been that way, and shall forever be, or some shit. The term "cruise control" comes to mind, except I'm not actually getting anywhere.

You could also easily trade "art" for "life" and it would still hold true.

Don't worry, it has nothing to do with your comment. I'm gonna spoiler the explanation to not weigh down the thread.

I'm not gonna get into it, but to make a long story short I basically let what I honestly think was the love of my life go on to what makes her happy.

I've dated a lot of women, but this was the only one that's actually caused me to change elements of my character for the better. She's been dating this guy for two years (a few months before I even came up to Canada), and she's completely happy with him. She even told me she would marry the guy if he proposed.

Any child would bitch and moan about these consequences, but a real man leaves it to fate. If a man really cares about another woman that much, they let them do whatever makes her truly happy, and leaves the rest up to fate.

It's gonna be tough, but i'll get over it.

Uh...Oh. Somehow I completely missed that. Entirely.,

Personally, and based solely on your brief synopsis, I disagree with your position slightly, but still respect your conviction. I gotta give you that much. Even if that was just a tiny, bite sized explanation for your current situation, it must be/have been undoubtedly rough to say the least. I've never ever been there though. Not even close. Kudos to you for keeping the proverbial stiff upper lip I guess.

Yep, that is a bite-sized explanation of a much larger picture.

Also I tend to just drop in to the AC and post random stuff all the time that completely derails the current topic discussion, so I would have been a bit spooked if you knew what I was talking about.

If you wanna give me your two cents on the issue, go right ahead; I would more than welcome a second opinion on this matter. All I ask is you send it via PM and we can close the subject in the AC chat thread, because this thing is nobody's problem but my own.
