Starting? I think they exploded at 12:01 AM PST. The thread about when the game will unlock is growing faster than I can read the single line posts there. I'd complain myself, but I did get the game for $33.75.

    I saw that.

While I like timers to actually count down to something, I wouldn't be concerned enough to post a thread on the steam forums like some of those folks.

Phew, its good to hear people actually praising this, the resounding 'meh' from reviews was worrying me. Though really im super nostalgic about Bioshock so I knew I would love it, and im the kind of guy that was baffled by peoples complaints about the combat in the first one, I thought it was brilliant, so im sure this will blow my socks off.

I am a bit dissapointed there are still the apparently copy and paste alternate endings, I really wish they'd just scrap that shit, heres hoping theyre at least better than (bioshock 1 spoiler)
morally grey decision making = PLASMID HITLER NUKES EARTH

Cant wait to play this, shiny cover is awesome, im finishing off Mass Effct 2 first.

As for multiplayer, between this and B:BC2 im set for the year.

Well for a high-profile game 88 isnt exactly stellar, its nothing to sneeze at but you can understand why initially id be a bit worried, but ive never really been swayed by reviews in the past, it just put a tiny damper on my enthusiasm. But thats mainly because Id forgotten how much I love Rapture.

    Spoilers!

Really? That spoiled the game for you? You know that thing that was on the cover of Game Informer a while back? They're actually in the game.

On Big Sisters'/Big Daddies'/Little Sisters' role in Bioshock 2 (no major storyline spoilers) :
But yeah, I guess they're kind of filling the role of "Super" Big Daddies now. Big Daddies are still playing the same role they did in Bioshock 1. Leading you to Little Sisters and such. Once you kill them you can "adopt" the Little Sister they were protecting, and carry them around to harvest ADAM. Once you make 2 harvests with a Sister, you can return her to her wall-tube thing if you're content with only the ADAM she harvested from the corpses, or harvest her and get even more ADAM for yourself. Every once in a while when you harvest a Little Sister or command one to harvest ADAM, a Big Sister will come and try to ruin your shit.

EDIT: Also, holy shit. You bring the game home shortly after midnight, pop it in, and the next thing you know it's goddamn 4:30 in the morning. Fucking hell, guys.

Those arnt meh. 88 is still very high. Its just that the allure of Rapture has worn off and people arnt as amazed. Thats it. Its very much a bigger and better upgrade of a game. Dont worry man.

I'm really enjoying the game so far. Very good.

Also, the multiplayer is pretty fun, though the lobby system is a bit iffy as to whether it wants to let me into a game. Half the time I'll enter a proper group and the other half I'll end up with a single guy and we'll sit there for 5 minutes with nothing happening.

Adding this info to the main post as well, but putting it here as well:

The 360 Group is now up and running: Send a friend request to RyanWangdustry and we can start getting shit organised with regards to multiplayer if people want.

I'll reiterate here as well: I need someone willing to step up and organise the Steam group for me. Information will go in the OP for that just as soon as we get someone with a PC copy willing to get the group going. Same goes for the PS3 version.

    Bioshock 2 Get!

Man...damn near no one at that midnight release though

Four people total, one of which was only picking up Dante's Inferno

Also, this game continues what Darksiders began; the resurgence of shiny covers

I was amused by this post because I saw Phil Kollar's (of Game Informer) twitter feed this morning and he said this:
Turn-out for BioShock 2 midnight opening was low (and one dude showed up for Dante's Inferno?!). Maybe cause of Snowmageddon though.

Just had two rounds of the multiplayer. It is surprisingly fun, although MOAR MANZ is always welcome. It's very easy to get to grips with, and there's an element of strategy - researching the highest ranked player in the match really turns the tide. The Big Daddy suit is a bit overkill though. Setting booby traps in Vending Machines is also brilliant fun. Really recommend people try it out.

    Also, Tenenbaum got hot. o_O

Not impressed with the main character, I thought they said that an individual Splicer would be no therat at all but they all manage to rape my ass easily enough in 3 shots. Bit inconsistent with the one I saw through a window taking on 3 at once for about 4 minutes while being shot to shit.

I agree - to an extent. From a gameplay perspective it'd suck if you were as monstruous and unstoppable as the regular Big Daddies. The first fight I had with another Big Daddy was very intense, very draining of my resources. Thematically you could say the Splicers have had a decade of extra splicing to beef themselves up, but still they shouldn't be hitting this hard. Combat with the drill shouldn't be this dangerous.

This'll probably change as you get further in.

Just got it for the PC, took me a bit to get the resolution just right. I also remapped some of the keys, and found that the hacking game tells you one key, but really means 'f' key.

Spoiler on beginning and why your character is weak
You did take off your helmet and put a bullet in your head. Maybe they reveal later on that you were revived, but you could be off your game due to that, or you just happen to be an earlier, outdated model.
