How does the G27 compare to the old Playstation 2 "Driving Force" wheel?

I've upgraded my computer, and pulled out my old Driving Force wheel (shown below, note the buttons ON the wheel). It had 180 degrees rotation. The force feedback in "Need for Speed" feels a little loose and sporadic. On straightaways, the force feedback will kind of nudge to one side slightly, then immediately nudge to the other, even though it doesn't look like there is any side to side movement of the car that would justify a weight transfer. Also there seems to be a dead spot.

Does the G27 blow this thing away in this respect, or is that just the nature of force feedback?

I can talk to the deadspot issue, but not really about those specific wheels. I've been using the xbox 360 wheel and as far as I can tell its force feedback doesn't have any deadspots. I realize this doesn't help you in terms of your computer (unless you got the wireless adapter so you can use 360 controllers with your computer, not sure if this would even work properly though) but it would appear theres something wrong with your wheel if it has deadspots.
