Pretty weak? It looks like someone took Poser, or one of those other 3-D modeling programs, and then spent five minutes coloring over the top and adding lens flare.
According to Kyle Baker, he's been getting a lot more offers for work since he switched to the CGI/photo-traced style.
Merc with a Mouth had some of the ugliest art I've seen in a dog's age
Agreed. I suppose in some way it was meant to reflect where the setting(s) took place, but gah.
Concerning GLC, an actual conversation I had today:
Friend: So, we know Mogo plays Magic, now.
Me: Why?
Friend: He had a ton of enemy creatures that kept regenerating. So what did he do? He buried them.
Me: I'm going to have to punch you now.
(Granted, the term "bury" hasn't been used in Magic in a long-ass time, but that was groan-worthy.)
he is Galactus. It is a play on "I am become death. Destroyer of worlds." which in turn was a play on "I have become Shiva, the destroyer of worlds."

Fables #92 was great, it was a Casey at the Bat story that takes place in Haven.
And then
Ambrose kisses Red Riding Hood and then he turns into a frog again! But Hood yells at him and then he turns himself back into a human (nursing a semi that Hood notices)

I'm with this interpretation.
Would prefer this to be a major earth shattering event. Not something that goes away in two issues and never affects the rest of the universe at all. That would be nice.
I think that was supposed to be more of a comparison rather than an outright revelation.
I don't think that he believes he is god in the "I am Alpha and Omega" sense, but with all of his power he might as well be. There is literally no one in the Marvel Universe that approaches his power level when he's in a calm state of mind, which usually only happens when he is the Void.
I'd agree with this. That kind of declaration needs a bit more than a little speech bubble jammed in among a bunch of other dialogue. Although the last page throws some doubt on it. Either way, I think it marks Bendis sliding over the Alan Moore/Frank Miller threshold.
so hey...is that Guy Gardner wearing a red AND green ring.....huh ok, I guess I should read some tie ins.
They'll probably get the red one off of him before Blackest Night ends. After all, the perpetual roid-rage and permanent loss of all his blood might complicate future matters and investigations.
I'll toss in my two cents that Joe was my book of the week and motw was when he scribbled the note before the last spread. That has more resonance with me than the spread.
Incredible Hulk was pretty decent this time and included regular Banner whooping Doom.
Not quite. It was
The Leader and MODOK, with a... stupidity pill hidden in the Hulkbot's cosmic energy...
Banner was just there to be as ridiculously tech-savvy and omniscient as the Sentry and Rulk are overpowered.
But... yeah. That was my MotW too. Doom's (or... people writing Doom, even) delivering rapid one-two punches of badass moments these days. Before being beaten back down again. I'm tempted to pck up something to do with Doomwar, to see if it carries on.

Mine is from Joe the Barbarian. Grant Morrison writing a 13-year-old's version of Lord of the Rings using everything from Transformers to Batman? Yes please.

as for it being canon? I'll be fucked if I know
It should be obvious from the language he was using that he wasn't our Cap.

Which is so terribly sad.

oh I know that part
I just don't know if any of these adventures Wade, Betty, and Headpool are having are considered canon

yeah, that's what i was pointing out

I
wow
that is the biggest case of missing the point I have seen in a while
Also that Joe the Barbarian looks tits.
My Moment was me starting to read the Cable and Deadpool trades
That guy kinda just comes off as a dick.
It's like, textbook nerd rage.

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I wouldn't call GLC a tie-in. The two Green Lantern books are as important to Blackest Night as the main series itself
3DS: 1607-3034-6970
Doom allowed Squirrel Girl to think she had won as part of an elaborate nut-centered plot!
Except that in that very same comic Uatu the Watcher was there, to witness it.
And he confirmed it himself. And yes he couldn't believe it either.
3DS: 1607-3034-6970

Thanos was a bitch.

The shade is such an awesome character. If only he had an ongoing.
His very own emo series.

He's the opposite of emo! He's never sad!
