If they didn't waste so much time at the beginning of this trying to get the Republicans on board and only focused on making themselves happy they would have been able to pass something good.
You have yet to explain how they could pass something good without 60 votes. That was the entire point of the compromises.
I think it's funny though how my friend didn't like Obama during the campaign but now she does, whereas I really liked him during the campaign but now I have a few reservations.

Besides what I remember of the news I also remember people talking about it in previous threads and I am seeing stories now talking about their loss of their supermajority now that Brown has been elected.

Both parties comprise several different ideologies and the only reason they're together is because we favor a two-party system. It has its advantages and disadvantages.
