    Edit: And for the record, when I first saw "Volus Embassy" I nearly shat a brick when I read it as "Volyu's Embassy" out of reflex.

    It's a novelty.

    Sure if you are using a multimedia projector for some reason.

    They do make HD projectors that are just as good quality-wise as any 1080p tv.

    Some even as cheap as $1,000 now.

    I almost bought one but then I realized I'm in college and it would be stupid of me to spend that much money on something like that even if it would be incredibly bad ass.

    Also the bulb would totally burn out with how often we turn the tv on and off and use it a bunch.

    Those bulbs are pretty expensive. Do they make LED ones now? I've been under the impression LED projectors/DLPs last quite awhile. I hope so, because my damn TV is an LED DLP. I'm not spending 900 dollars to get it fixed if it goes.

    The bulbs usually cost around $200-300, sometimes more. But like the other guy said before, it can be a year or two before you need to replace them. Which actually doesn't sound that long..

    I mean they have their pros as well as their cons.

    They are totally legitimate for home theater use as long as you are using one made for that and not an office projector or something.
