I use a Fat as well. It comes in handy for games like Geometry Wars. Since the game was designed for the newer models it lags on the Fat, making it easy to play at higher difficulties.

Civ:Rev although I'm not sure how many people ended up with Civ on the DS.

It'll probably be in my case but I doubt it'll see the sun. I was pretty disappointed with it.

Worms2 and clubhouse games are awesome choices. Infinite space has a PvP wifi mode but I don't know how many copies they even made let alone sold.
Regarding pokeymans, I've never done local wifi before. Everybody you see in local wifi automatically gets added to your pal pad, right?

Will Dictochat be the conversation tool of choice in the Keynote and other large sitdown events?

Yes, although it's usually a mess at PAX. it's not designed to handle hundreds of people trying to connect at the same time.

I'm buying my friend's DS and just picked up TWEWY and Scribblenauts and ordered Elite Beat Agents. Mario Kart was new and more expensive than TWEWY and Elite Beat Agents together, so I decided to wait and see if I can join up with the games. Thanks, guys!

I'll be bringing Mario Kart, Elite Beat Agents (it's like $8 new at MicroCenter if local PAXsters need it!), Tetris, and maybe Track & Field... got it for $3 at Target, noticed it has a single-cart multiplayer mode, but haven't tried the game to find out if it's rubbish or not.

So the games everyone will be playing are:

    Mario Kart
    Pokemon Gold/Silver
    Tetris
    Elite Beat Agents

    Is this list somewhat correct?

You forgot Mario Party DS. Another fun game that allows to host with a single cart. I know I plan on doing exactly that.

So for people who are only just getting back into pokemon, what is a good level to have a fighting party? I am under the impression you can't flatten up to 50 from the DS link. Or just correct me if I'm wrong!

Actually the common thing is to go up to 100, but it does offer you both 50 and 100. You would at least want your pokes fully evolved, etc. etc.

No, you don't have to get your pokes to 50.

You get your poke fully evolve (highest level evolve is Tyranitar at 55 I think) and then you select in the wifi plaza if you want a Level 50 battle (your pokes all get made level 50 no matter the level) or a Level 100 Battle (your pokes all get made level 100 no matter the level).

That is what I mean. Usually dudes battle at 100. Again, your pokemon's actually level doesn't matter, I just recommend fully evolving them.

Planning to bring some brain games -- both puzzle quests

Also have some games would be willing to trade --

Just going to bring what I have

I know the brain games and puzzle quest let you play multiplayer.

How does that system affect EV/IV training?

It doesn't effect IV training (as nothing effects those; they're set upon capture/egg laying) but it sets all EV's appropriately. If you are fully EV trained at level 20 and you set your guys to 100all, then your EV's will raise accordingly to their max potential due to EV/IV training.

It's a nice little boost as Game Freak realizes that not everyone has the time to level to 100. It evens things out in a competitive sense. I normally raise my guys to 30's or 40's, but just because this is when they learn the moves I need or evolve. Don't be intimidated by level 100's anymore. ;]

    Cooperative:
    Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
KORG DS-10 (my DS-10 Plus is in the mail)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates (I'd really like to try this, anyone?)

    Competitive:
    Zelda: Spirit Tracks
    TWEWY
    GTA: Chinatown Wars
    MKDS
    Pokemon Diamond
    Advance Wars: Dual Strike
and Chrono Trigger, since I saw it mentioned here. Though I don't remember if I've got a monster worth fighting.

Aside from the new Pokemans that I'm sure was named. Has anyone mentioned The World Ends With You? I'm pretty sure it has, it's TOO good a game to pass up. I never get tired of playing it. That and the new Shin Megami game looks really good. Strange Journey is the name I believe.

I'm a little disappointed that NSMB isn't getting a bit more love in this thread. I think the versus mode is incredibly fun and addicting.

I'm trying to pack light so NSMB is the only cart I'm bringing and I'm going to throw down every chance I get.
