so, that little guy up there is cloning himself and getting handed out to people who are good at movies

there's sure to be a huge, bombastic and over the top ceremony that will be televised, and we'll be taken through it by GE's Jack Donaghy:

alexbaldwin.jpg

and reclusive businessman-cum-fugitive Gavin Volure

30-rock-steve-martin99.jpg

now this sounds totally sweet, I know, but it gets better

as soon as the nominations come out, we'll post them here, and then you can predict who you think will win

we'll all be watching along, kneeling over our scorecards, it'll be just like being there without the inconvenience of having to be in the same room as smelly celebrity girls

PRIZES?!

that's right, you silly gooses, not only do you get hours of fine entertainment compiling the finest filmmakers of last year, not only do you get to act like total Hollywood insiders with your scorecards, if you do good, you win shit!

now last year we had some pretty good arts coming out

but this year, the winner gets comics and arts from A LOT (the number keeps growing) OF ARTISTS!

Campion!
Mully!
Berk!
Raneados!
Feebsicle!
Monkeyfeet!
TDOT!
Skull Man!
Penguin Incarnate!
Projeck!
Koshian!
Vann Diras!
FAQ maybe!

and returning from their award-winning performances last year, Robcham, Fletcher, DE?AD, and ChicoBlue (maybe Chico's a little hazy)

you want some fucking arts?! then get to voting!

SOUNDS GOOD MAN! WHERE'RE THE NOMINATIONS AND HOW DO I ENTER

the nominations are right here!

BAM!

entering is simple, just copy and paste the nominees list into a post, then edit it so it only includes the category and your pick

e.g
BEST ACTOR:
Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart (2009)

and then throw the whole thing under a spoiler tag, so it looks like this

YaYa
huge giant list in here I haven't actually done my picks yet

you have up until the day before the Oscars to enter, so get cracking

if it wins best picture i will be surprised

surely something was better than the meandering plot of the hurt locker

    i mean
    it was good

but there was no structured plot, people get introduced who die in the same scene and there's little to no character growth

the acting and writing are both fantastic but the actual plot structure is kind of a jumble, which is my problem with Persepolis. It's more like a collection of vignettes with a recurring character than an actual movie.

I think the longest bit of plot they really had was with that little shop boy, and his reaction with what he perceives regarding him.

honestly, if this were last year, or the year before, the hurt locker would not stand a chance, even with the doubled best picture slots. this year was completely awful for movies.

I can barely even think of 5 movies that would be NOMINATED for best picture.

Avatar, Hurt Locker, Precious, Crazy Heart, A Single Man, and a Serious Man? Maybe Moon?

What's another movie that was even remotely good? I really enjoyed Where the Wild Things Are, and would love to see it on the list, but it would literally only be filler.
