Busted Ship in Bridge Commander

For anyone with more intimate knowledge about Star Trek: Bridge Commander:

Is there any way to request a tow back to a Starbase in the event that your warp engines get fried by green blooded Romulans?

There are mods which allow things like Emergency Repair, which will shut down Engineering and repairs to everything else while they attempt to repair that one component you need (if I'm in a tight spot I'll warp out, then while waiting for them to warp into the system after me, have Brex emergency repair my shields - quite effective!). What you're specifically asking for however, is impossible, and definitely on the original, unmodded game. But even with mods, there are things that just can't be repaired without a space station - try being fired upon by the Breen, for example. You'll never get main power back, and will be stuck in the system.

May I direct your attention to the Kobayashi Maru ubermod - a collection of mods compiled for the game. Nobody should be playing Bridge Commander nowadays without it. People are even playing the game online with it. Download the latest beta install. Many new bridges, ships, incredible technologies, new ways of using the engine (you can even walk around the bridge before returning to sit at your chair if you wish).

    Awesome mod.

This video shows a little of what is made possible with this mod. Nobody should play Bridge Commander unmodded these days.

...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.

Yeah, that's what happened. I couldn't roll out of the way of their energy disruptor in time.

Emergency Repairs took care of everything except my engines, so I was just looking to see if I had an out other than a reset.

Ahh... yeah, damn Breen. Although for some reason in the latest version of Kobayashi Maru, the Breen's torpedoes that drain power don't penetrate the shields of any Federation ship anymore.

Too bad there was never a widescreen resolution fix or I would still be playing this game.
