Need decent, cheap HDTV for X-box 360

OK, my wife and I don't watch much TV, so my large one is for TV and I got the small, college-dorm one for my X-Box and it ain't cutting it anymore.

So, anyone know a good, cheap HDTV for gaming? I know jack and shit about HDTV because I don't watch much other than the Discovery Channel and I'm primarily a PC gamer anyways. We're not hurting for cash, we're just cheap and hate debt (I've got no credit card debt at all).

Was leaning twords this:

Hell, I'd even go for another decently sized computer monitor, since that's all I'd really be using it for.

Honestly, I'd go the monitor route, myself. Get yourself a good widescreen display and one of these. The bonus is, if you're getting a monitor with DVI and VGA hookups, you can use one monitor for both your PC and your 360.

Unfortunately I don't have many good recommendations for monitors. I'd suggest hitting up New Egg and searching based on the reviews, as well as your desired screensize and price point. You can get a decent-ish monitor for ~$200 or less.

Just remember you'll need a separate set of speakers if you do go this route. Usually you wind up settling for a smaller screen compared to a TV, but I always sit much closer to a monitor.

I *do* have some speakers, but my wife wants those for the comp for teleconferencing her niece and such.

How far will you sit from the screen? Read the OP here

    Wow, thanks. Seriously.

I plan to play about 6-7 feet away so the 720p, 32 incher in the OP works perfectly.

I was going to come in and recommend a Vizio. It's what I have, and it's a good middle of the road brand. You see it often in bars and gyms.

Vizio is a good brand for a great price. They are a great way to get a good TV without breaking the bank. I have been looking around, as I too am looking for a better TV and stat for stat Vizio's are pretty comprable to Sony or Phillips - but usually several hunderd dollars less expensive, and you don't sacrifice picture quality to get it.

Take a look on Tigerdirect.com - They have had the best deals that I have been able to find, sometimes if you catch the right deal they even do free shipping.

For what it's worth, I bought a Dynex 42" LCD 1080p from Best Buy (dynex is their house brand) for 500 dollars and it was worth every penny. It's not the world's best picture, but it IS pretty damn good, and for the price, it's terrific.
