Talk talk router woes

Having finally gotten sick of the lag I was getting in games from my wireless I'm going with a wired connection instead. My dad said he has a talktalk broadband account already set up and a router he got with it (a speedtouch 330 if that helps).

Trouble is he seems to have mislaid the installation disk for it, the router automatically downloaded driver software when I plugged it in but I still don't know how to get it actually working and providing me with internets without the installation disk.

At first I thought a quick google search would find it but all I can find is the driver software for the router not the software for setting up the network/account and all that jazz. Closest I've found is on the talktalk site is a "replacement CD" for it but a) I'm not entirely convinced that isn't just the driver software I already have and b) they expect me to give them £5 to ship it to me which is a complete rip off.

Help please?

    From what I'm seeing, that Speedtouch 330 is a USB-only, modem-only unit

    ugh

I couldn't find anything other than the drivers as well, but I did see a bunch of claims that it doesn't work under Vista, so I'd suggest saying "this piece of crap doesn't work with my Vista/Win7 computer, please send me a proper modem instead" - where "proper modem" is one with an ethernet/RJ45 jack that supported regular, good old fashioned PPPoE, and can be jacked right into a router.

I can't help with the drivers but I can tell you this helpful hint. Always check the power supply of this motherf*cker if you have problems with it.

My grandad had a problem that took me HOURS of investigation, and we eventually came back to the power supply. I had to get a voltmeter to it and it turned out it wasn't supplying enough juice to the router. Once we found that out, my grandad remember that this was the 2nd power supply he had been sent from TalkTalk.

Yeah it's a fairly shitty looking thing but at this point I'm guessing it can't be worse than what I'm already using plus it's been sitting in a box for god knows how long (years?).

This is worrying news since I use vista, I'm not sure what the deal would be on phoning up talk talk and demanding they send me a better router. I think they only give you something free when you first sign up. At this point I just need a disc where I can set up the network and account then I'll see about replacing this crappy thing.
