The only important class mod when fighting Craw is Ammo Regen.

Anything that buffs Shield and Health regen are REALLY useful.

Craw is not weak to any elemental damage. Only things that matter are his weak spots. There are two ways to hit those weak spots: Accurate high damage weapons to make the shots count OR any gun that fires a ludicrous amount of bullets with a horrible accuracy (basically, "spray and pray" actually works against Craw).

Sadly, there is no surefire way to beat Craw with a class other than a Siren. If you two can get it down so that you beat him 1/3 of the time, I would consider that a victory.

I need to start playing this again, I haven't played since launch. Do many people still play on the PC? Anyone interested in starting some low level characters tonight, or later in the week?

I'll be playing it again when I build my new pc friday. Plan on having the whole weekend devoted to Borderlands.

Edit: I should say I'll be starting from scratch.

I've never played Borderlands, but I'm thinking of picking it up at some point this week. If I do so I'd be up for any low level shenanigans if you can handle a complete beginner tagging along?

You can level up pretty fast tagging along with higher level players.

But you can't really do much to help. The curve for fighting higher level enemies than you is extremely steep in this game.

I basically rushed through play through 2 after completing zombie island. Mobs of enemies 10 levels below you can get dangerous quick.

Also barrels. I am sure 90% of my deaths come from barrels or shortly after their explosion.

I do play PC and would be looking to do some co-op at some point. Trying to play through everything first solo though. Hopefully doing Knoxx this weekend.

Yeah as a hunter/soldier combo it'll be near impossible to beat him. A siren/soldier combo works though. I run from pillar to pillar shooting him, while my friend hangs in the corner of the map (as soon as the elevator gets up to the top, face Craw and turn left and hear near the cliff). If he's looking at my friend, I pop out and shoot him in the back and the weak points. If he's looking at me my friend pops up and shoots him.

Will do, I just have to decide whether to pick it up on steam or save a little money and wait for shipping. Also I should mention I'm in the UK, but I don't have a job until Monday so I can do unusual hours if needs be :).

I just bought it on steam and it's downloading now, although not incredibly quickly. What kind of time where you thinking of playing? I'm only really available for the next 4 hours or so, when it finishes downloading. The rest of this week my free time usually falls somewhere between 10am and midnight my time...so I think 6am and 8pm in Toronto. Does any of that work for you?

I wish spread revolvers were easier to find. I'm level 44, still using an orange Savage Equalizer I found so many levels ago that's 155x7, +13 ammo regen

I got about 3-4 mashers during the Zombie DLC on playthrough 2. Sadly for my Soldier they pretty much just get used for shooting a few things out of novelty and then selling them.

I have a good success farming Craw with my buddy, doing a Soldier/Siren combo. Basically I draw the big lobster away while my buddy lays down a turret and runs for a glitch spot on the left-hand side of the cliffs. He works on dealing damage while I keep Craw positioned correctly and try not to die.

Still no pretty Cyans yet though... sigh...

    :(

I love 'em. The one I use is a great all purpose gun. No elemental damage, just a bunch of solid bullets right in the face. Now, I'm not sure how that works with the Hunter skill that gives a chance to shoot 2 bullets. Would it be 155x14 then I guess?

I'm here now, until the rest of the night. Most weeknights will be 7pm and later my time. :/ However, Saturday I can play in the morning my time until around 6pmish.

Possible complication: When I try and launch the game from steam, it brings up a window that says 'general protection fault' and then it gives me a runtime error.

Great... anyone know anything about this? I recently just updated my Directx in Windows 7.

    edit 2. Fixed the problem!

Does anyone even use the group chatroom anymore? Or how should I go about finding people to shoot mans? Whenever I get a craving for this game that place is empty, then I proceed to play alone for about 15 minutes, and then lose interest cause I'm all alone. I've yet to touch Zombie Island and Secret Armory, and that kinda makes me sad :(

    It's per pellet.

To elaborate a little: The gun shoots x number of times simultaneously, each one doing the listed damage. They may or may not all hit, depending on how close you are and how accurate the gun is.

Exactly. So technically if every bullet hit, You could get 700 damage. So when you see those shotguns with 215x12 damage, It's a good reason to notice, because that could theoretically do 2580 damage a shot!

I have a "Fatal Death" purple colored shotgun, that does 153x7 damage with 74.6 accuracy, 1.6 fire rate, and 3x zoom. It's a pretty cool shotgun, I'm liking it a lot. Also, I just started getting into Eridian weapons, and have the 1 Thunder Storm with 311x8 damage. I never liked Eridian guns before, but I guess I just didn't experiment with them enough. I was the same way with shotguns, now I'm trying to get both proficiencies up.

You'll need elemental weapons to deal with them. Fire for green, corrosive for armored, and shock for maggots. My turret always has the fire artifact on it since green worms are the most annoying to deal with.
