Name that game: internet hookshot minigame? EDIT: Wire Hang!
Can't remember the name of this thing. I remember playing it all the time a few years back, I believe this forum introduced it to me. I remember everything about it except the name.
It was a fairly simple minigame that started out as a downloaded game and I think became an in-browser flash game. It had a plain blue background and starred an anime girl with a hookshot, and the whole point was to launch yourself up as high as possible by latching onto floating blocks. The play area was vertically tall rather than square. It wasn't named after the girl, it was either something generic like Hook Jumper or something Japanese-sounding. I think it was made by someone in Asia.
The reason I ask about it is because it was really fun, and because I think the new iPhone game Hook Champ was inspired by it.
Oh ya- i remember playing the one with the anime girl in it, but can't for the life of me remember the name.
Gravity Hook is pretty awesome too, though. Have you guys played Canabalt, by the same guys? It's many kinds of awesome, but controlled with one button.
I found that while googling too, that's not it. It wasn't even that graphically good, and the stuff you latched onto didn't kill you, you just had to not fall. But it was similar to that.
@uncle:
it's maybe not as simple and fun as the game none of us can remember the name of, but have you tried Final Ninja/ Final Ninja Zero? They have a good grappling mechanic, on top of shuriken- throwing, and are worth a few minutes!

EDIT: After reading your description again, it totally isn't. :S
Must be just one of those "lost to the internet forever" things.
