I just finished my second playthrough of ME1. That was a great game, I'm so ready for 2. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that Captain Anderson will turn out to be a huge Ned Stark moralistic fuckup in his more prominent role?

Did they fix the texture pop-in?

    Most people are saying yes.

Installing ME1 to your HDD made texture pop-in almost a non-issue, so I'd imagine installing ME2 would make it entirely non-existent.

I did this with ME1 and plan to do the same for ME2, although 2 discs kinda sucks ass. I just have enough HD for one, hopefully once you change to disc 2 you wont need to pop disc 1 back in anytime soon, else it'll be a hassle.

ME1 continually locked up on me when 'loading' inbetween areas, saving this to the HDD also kept that from happening.

    Wait, ME2 is two discs?
    Old news.

Which makes me worry about how long the game is. But then again there are the people who
just breeze through it like mad in one sit down. There are people who have lives you know D:

Do the choices in the first game really mean anything? Like, I saved the council , shacked up with my subordinate, killed a lot of people, hurt the feelings of people I couldn't kill, funded my moms friends PTSD induced alchoholism, and carried out a final solution to the rachni question.

Are there any real , tough consequences for those decisions? Does my character get recognized as being space hitler? Or will we be too busy shacking up with more subordinates and being the galaxy's last , desperate hope of not being eaten by mecha-cthulu , again?

    uh..spoilers I guess.

That there was some SCIENCE! that made it infinite fuel but we had to "discharge static electricity" into planet's atmospheres every so often.

If this is not the case, clearly I must cancel my preorder.

The IGN video review looked like it had some sort of menu that was allowing you to bootleg in those decisions it looked like.

    Nope:
Wrex dies, depending on the gender of your Shepard either Kaiden or Ashley is alive, Udina is head of the council and the Destiny Ascension was destroyed, and the Rachni are extinct. Can't remember any other decisions, but that will be the base world you populate with if you have no previous save. The main things are the decisions at the end of the game - I haven't seen yet, but I'd imagine they jerry-rig it so that even if you save the council, and appoint Anderson - Udina still ends up leading a human dominated council since the humans have the largest fleet strength.

Humanity being the dominant species at the moment is pretty integral to the story of ME2.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFF

I may have to sit down and do a canon playthrough. All of my playthroughs have had huge chunks of time off from the game so I forget how I was playing, or "oh hey I haven't done that option" even if it made no sense. I was probably going to put off buying ME2 until I had a little more money anyway so I guess this isn't a bad thing. So glad the Mako is gone.

I let Kaiden die instead of Ashley. I'm a male. So will Kaiden or Ashley be alive?

It pisses me off that the only options in the little Terra Firma vignette are to say "I disagree with your politics, but I respect your right to racism" or endorse the bastard. Why can't I say "freedom isn't free, you should know that" and then punch that silly goose right in the jaw?

I mean, I don't even like the Council, but those Terra Firma types are just asking for it.

Well it's just that there are so many opportunities to punch people and even murder them in cold blood, even when they have done virtually nothing wrong. But you can't even yell at the Terra Firma guy, you have to be downright respectful. Nor can you endorse one of his opponents.

The cantidate himself is acutally pretty reasonable. Did you actually listen to his entire dialog tree? Especially if you have Wrex or Garrus in your party. If you stay diplomatic towards him, he has some points. Plus its not like he's running for president of the alliance, just a senators seat.
