mully i like your new av / sig combo it is truly inspirational
thank you!
the formula (although it is one that is kind of "out there") inspired me
i saw it on a tv show about the universe and decided that i wanted to be a PART OF IT
also i wish we'd have a power outage here
power outage and a lightning storm
that'd be cool, we don't get those very often. (maybe 5 times in my life.)

yes it is, asim! ive always thought that anyone who denies the possibility of another civilization somewhere in the universe is, well, a silly goose for lack of a better word. and i was just made aware of this equation, as theoretical as it may be.

i've never had a power outage either that i can remember! i heard some really loud thunder the other day though and it scared the poop out of me

Isn't that Sagan's thing about the possibility of life in the universe? I did not read past this post so maybe someone already said that.
It was basically the worst thing when the power went out in Cambodia during the hottest part of the day, so no electric fans or anything (we didn't use the AC except at night)
my cousin and i would lay on the floor fanning ourselves and praying for death.
The Drake equation needs data that we don't really know yet to be quantified though
i think that's part of why i like it, hash - it shows how little we know about ...well, everything, really.
yeah! I mean don't get me wrong, I like it a lot too!
Because even if you have really conservative guesses at the odds I mentioned (like one star in a million has a earth-like planet, and one earth-like planet in a million develops life, and one form of life in a million develops intelligence), the equation still spits out a huge amount of possible intelligent cultures.
when are they going to send a team of robots to crack open that icey shell of europa already and bring us back some footage of giant seamonsters fighting

I thought we weren't supposed to go to Europa
doesn't anybody remember the big announcement from those aliens
Posts
sheesh
stop looking at your phone and enjoy the sounds
of the blind
now my hands smell a bit like cockroach poo
thank you!

I do believe that is the Drake Equation, no?
fun fact: wifi doesn't work when the power is out
wouldn't it work if you didn't have wifi and it was a "landline" or whatever it's called? plugging into the wall?
there's also one of those dongle things from verizon that my dad has for his laptop so
like the odds of an earth-like planet developing life after a certain amount of time
and the odds of life becoming intelligent after a certain amount of time
we have nothing no data to estimate those odds.
they could be 1 or they could be 0.000000001
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

the Drake equation is fundamentally the same as saying "We're probably not alone 'cuz the universe is reaaalllllly big"
