This thread needs more discussion of the manliest men in Street Fighter.

Dudley>Sagat>Guile>Zangief>Street Fighter 3 Ryu(He finally lost the power of emo and manned up and got badass)>Makoto(So goddamn manly she makes the list of manliest men).

Akuma is disqualifed because of his bitchfest with Gouken.

Gouken is disqualified because he lost to his now badass, but previously whiny brother.

Hugo is disqualifed because his manager is Poison and that's just fucking creepy.

Gen was previously a manly man, but now is disqualified because of his Suicide death wish.

    Ken is Ken.

nah it's coming out in april because they need the sales for the next quarter.

I'm thinking that they took out gen's double hands because his chains were too ridiculous with that, like maybe you could link an mk after the chain? That or mk hand, mk hands was just better so there was no point in using the chain.

The degree of difficulty to execute mp, mk xx hands fadc mp, mk hands, mk hands is crazy. They shouldve left it in. Daaaaamn YOU CAPCOM!

But your right, maybe with his chains it wouldve made him "too" good?

My fiancee is going to hate me when this comes out; it'll be back to ignoring her for a while!

Also, I think the best addition they're making to this game are lobbies.

Freed up some space on my friends list to add a few of you, and what do you know! StokedUp must have removed me from his list, because I have to re-add him! I didn't think kicking your ass all the time with Noel would make you hate me so!

I don't know what they did but Super looks so much better than vanilla SF4.

If it looks like that on the 360 I am going to crap my pants.

As for removing Gen's mk -> hands x 2, maybe they made hands stronger so you don't need to sit there and watch your ass get molested for 10 seconds but Gen still gets his damage.

    Dudley looks BOSS though.

    yup. mokoto is 10.

And Sakura should be in her 20s by now. Capcom just wants to insert characters people will recognize from the older games and not worry about a proper timeline.

    Fine by me!

Ya know, with only having Hakan left to reveal, does anyone think it might be kind of a let down? Juri was revealed alongside T. Hawk and Dee Jay, but with Hakan being the only character to be revealed all by himself, he better be pretty awesome.

At this point Hakan or anything else they reveal is just icing on the cake. I mean, this game has a stupid amount of characters at this point. It's something like 35 characters at this point.

kinda sad really, there's already 27? some odd characters, and I'll be lucky to face half of them in a given day of street fighting. I think I've fought like 5 Roses total in my entire SF4 play time.

Yeah, it's always sagat sagat ken ryu sagat sagat sagat ken ken ken online. The other day freaked me out though I fought abel, vega, blanka, vega all in a row in championship mode. And they were two different vega players. I had to check to make sure I was actually playing SF4. And also I got destroyed by the abel and the vega players because that's like the first time I've played either online.

Well, with some of the top tier characters getting subtle nerfs and the addition of a bazillion characters to the cast, I'm guessing we'll see a lot more character variety online in SSFIV.

Sagats supposedly still top tier though, if one man's words are to be believed. Dudley and Ibuki are supposed to be on par with him so, yeah it that way we'll see some new blood, perhaps. I just hope we don't switch one set of three for another. It should at least be madness for the first couple weeks with everyone trying everyone out.

The only good thing about Sagat is trying all the large character combos on him. I loooooove trying to do the FK LP loops with Akuma, even though I get spammed uppercutted out of it everytime I mess up. Ryu is just boring Ryu :(

I never played Brawl, but weren't a lot of the characters essentially clones of each other?

In SSF4, Ryu and Ken are the closest you get and even then I think they are pretty different.

Similar deal there. A few characters have similar-looking moves but they still play completely differently.

I'm sure the common number of characters is just a coincidence, though.

The clones that were present in Brawl weren't really all that similar. No two characters shared normal moves with eachother, and the specials that were shared were generally different in some way (think Ryu and Ken's Shoryukens).

The level of difference between Ken and Ryu is about the same as for the clones in Brawl. Probably less, because at least their projectiles look different!

My character list for Super is probably...

Rose, Chun Li, Vega, Ibuki, Dudley, Cody, Juri
Makoto, Cammy, Guile, Ken, Viper, Hakan maybe if he isn't ugly

Like a 70/30 split between first group and second. This is just too much.

For me it would be Dudley, Ibuki, Seth, Chun Li, and Guy.
And then Makoto, Cody, Adon, Dee Jay, and Juri.

It's actually pretty impressive how I'm interested in almost all of the new characters (considering that I have no previous attachment to any of them).

    That's what I said.

I've always liked Dudley as a character, but I was never any good with him. Makoto was cool in 3S, but the slower speed and more restrictive juggle properties of SFIV are not going to be kind to her.

But Ibuki is a college chick ninja. It doesn't get any better than that.

We only have Keno's word for that, and he's a confirmed troll in my eyes, seeing as how on the podcast he went on and on about "even if you think you know who their gonna reveal, you'll be surprised".

Then when the scans come out, it's exactly who we knew it would be for months, so yeah I'm gonna take all his tier comments with a grain of salt.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I think he'll be solid mid-tier, like Abel. He's gonna be a bit more mobile, with better anti-air options and more options against mid projectiles.

If he plays like he did in earlier games I think he won't have a problem holding down his spot. Not to mention he's got elements of Fuerte's mixups, with better pokes and chains. People thought Gen was weak, too.

Honestly, he doesn't have to rely on his jump for mobility, he's got both a command jump and command run. I doubt I'll be jumping much except to start crossups on wakeup.
