Seems that if Rose uses her ultra against Dan close to point blank, and Dan immediately does his ultra in response, the two of them just bounce off of each other with no damage taken.
First time I've ever seen two ultras straight-up cancel each other out. I had assumed that the second one performed usually has priority.

It's not that. Dan stops trying to hit her because he thinks she's undressing, and Rose catches on and puts her scarf in real quick before he shows her his Saikyo!
Probably also doesn't help that it's the first time I've played SF4 in months. Got C.Short->C.Jab->C.Fierce link combo a few times, but never managed to get the HK out after it. Still like the Happ sticks.
I know that in Australia there's far fewer players, but does anyone have any advice on how to find any players to make use of the Championship mode? Although I don't mind playing against much better players, it'd be nice to fight against more players of my own lowish skill level. Getting curb stomped repeatedly wears out pretty quickly.

I find you get Championship matches much more frequently if you set your Arcade Interrupt setting to Championship, and then start playing some arcade mode. </anecdote>

Well, I'll give it a go and see how it works. I suppose there may also be a spike of activity on weekends, but that's just a guess.

Bought a PS3 early Jan. to be able to play SSF4 with my buddies, and got the MvC TE with it. Like Harry osborn says, it's soooo good.
Played a bit of MvC2. I like the fact that there's no slowdown at match start like on 360, but ranked is LOLishious. So many quitters. I don't really care though. It's just like scrubs walking away from a machine before their match ended.
The lobby loading is slower than on 360 though . But, as long as you stay in a room it goes relatively fast. If anyone still plays this, my tag is grimsen_bsh .
Did Sakura summon two burly dudes out of nowhere just to have them rape her opponent?
Yup. And, to top it off, her opponent was...
Herself.

Yeah. I'm like companies should know by now that their fanbases get easily butthurt and will ragequit left and right as long as you don't give them some kind of penalty.

I don't even play people online that have a DC rating of anything over like 5%. I imagine a good couple of them have bad connections and it's not their fault, but in that circumstance I wouldn't want to play them anyway.
I love how when you make a room you can just "kick" and somebody is immediately there to take their spot.
Thing is...they would have went for Sagat no matter who you picked.
Counter-picking is just to annoy you more than anything.
Yeah you are right.
Btw is tick throw option selecting just impossible online or something.
It works depending on how lucky/unlucky you are. Thing is, you can bait option selects and throw people in the 1-3 startup frames of their option select short/jab and make the throw untechable (no longer in a neutral state). Lag can make the timing of this very tricky so it tends to happen more randomly than planned at least online.
Also, if your character has a rapid tap move (chun, honda, etc) and you're really mashing out your option selects, you'll end up getting hands/LL which is *much* worse.
i was thinking today about how i'd love some kind of higher-end data tracking for this game.
top 50 players you fight against most often and your win/loss ratios
win/loss matrices of characters you play vs characters others play, with totals like "how many times blanka has beaten you"
they've had the win matrix in other games, for fights on your system, but i'd love one for online.
They have something like that, but it's per character. Your percentages vs specific chars, not players. I learned that i lose close to 75% of the time against Gief.
It's in the leaderboards somewhere, along with the replays and such.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

the only percentage thing i see is how often you play various characters.
oh wait, character win rates is versus those characters? OHHHHHH.

could be mistaken, but doesn't this factor in computer matches (arcade mode)? Fairly certain the one in the main menu that shows % of character's played does.

Probably. I'm 100% sure that the % characters played one does.
Edit:
I believe I heard their data tracking is going to be much improved in Super. Or at least that's one thing they're attempting to do. Can't remember exactly what the changes are supposed to be at this moment.

I could not put anything above Zangief's table flip.
They need to release that on XBLA.

The Raid
Edit: Oh, octo.
It upset me so much I started hopping up and down like a douche but for some reason I started winning doing that.
Also what is his costume in super supposed to be. He looks like some sort of gym teacher.

Um, more importantly, did the one who got killed... Have hearts for eyes? Am I just seeing things there?
Edit: And what I really want to know here, does that effect happen to everyone? Does this happen to Ryu?

...so you're basically excited about everything?
there is nothing quite like watching your own matches to see how you can improve. god that will be awesome.
Or quite depressing.
He is clearly not excited about new stages. How you can not be excited about a stage with meerkats, i don't know.
