Yeah last night my whole team was re-spawning at the same point, in front of the church on Wasteland. That's fine but not when the other team has a harrier and and a chopper gunner. Just ate through us. Even if some ran cold blooded, or which ever one makes you invisble to stuff, they would still get tagged by someone on the opposing team.
This has never happened to me and if this does happen I would assume the match is pretty much over. Wouldnt it be a good idea to use the shield class? The default one doesnt run coldblooded (so the harrier might get you from behind), but taking some fire from the chopper gunner and harrier would be a pretty effective role to help your teammates. If nothing else, it will get you some exp and progress on challenges.
Is the riot shield effective against the chopper gunner?
I don't know about the chopper gunner, and the ac-130 might be a headache, but harrier/attack helicopter/pave low can be blocked by a shield without any problems.
In theory, you should be able to block the chopper gunner, but I don't remember how it goes when you actually try it.
There is a difference between smoking pot and ESPOUSING smoking pot. The former is quite alright (even recommended), the latter is juvenile. Kind of like how I like pizza, but I do not have a tattoo of a pizza on my forehead. One is delicious (even recommended), the other woud be a sign that are you are a silly goose.
For me, it really pulls me out of the fun of video gaming when some one is complaining about every aspect of the game. X gun is too powerful, complain. X perk is too powerful, complain. X picture is dumb/rude/what ever. its perfectly fine to complain when its valid, the glitching is a pain. I think I might take a rest from MW2, not because of the game, but the players.
I have a confession to make, apparently I'm a dirty "noob" or whatever for going 25-5 on Karachi with the RPD which apparently is "EZ-MODE" and was told off !
By this horrible sniper named Manta123 or something with pot leafs and shit, who kept going 1:5 KD (I guess he played while stoned ?)
I'm sorry.
(By God the RPD sucks compared to the AUG though, only a few levels to go though.)
The moment I find someone playing with Joint Ops/High Command as part of their title/emblem I take it upon myself to ensure that my next 5 kills are all that one person.
Agreed.
Now I found a couple of awesome guys online that my friends and I play with who are admitted hardcore potheads. But they don't use those stupid symbols and callsigns. It's not the fact that someone smokes pot that bothers me. I don't care if someone does. I wouldn't be against trying it myself one of these days. It's just that, as mentioned above, the people that have them are generally annoying people and feel the need to be like, "OMG SO HIGH RIGHT NOW", as if anyone cares.
Luckily, mute is just a couple of button presses away.
See, I'm more so of the opinion that most of the people chatting in the game tend to be idiots anyway - it has nothing to do with their pot call-signs.

If you're trying to get the riot shield challenges completed, a pavelow/chopper/harrier is awesome. You can point your shield straight up at the thing and deflect every one of the bullets that comes down on you.
As an added bonus, you can follow the air support around the map (not too hard if you have marathon and lightweight, which my riot shield build has) and soak up a lot of it's fire instead of hitting your un-shielded teammates. I followed a pavelow around a map once and it focused on me roughly half of the time, cutting down the pain that was inflicted on my teammates. I got shot a few times while doing so, but it saved a lot of kills for my team.

Does anybody else get tons of kills with the stationary guns on that helicopter side of wasteland? It seems everyone tries really hard to "lock down" the map (explosives in the bunker or snipers on the perimeter). So the enemy is usually concentrated on one half of the map or in the bunker.
You cant use the gun for more than 7 seconds, but I have gotten 5 kills in one run with them. Especially if your team is in the bunker and the enemy is focusing on taking it back.
One strategy that is important is to get on the gun and spin it, but dont fire until you have a target. Once you start firing just scour the ridgelines after taking out any visible targets. If nothing shows up in 2 or 3 seconds, jump off and look for flankers/snipers sprinting to get in position to take you out.
I have the best results in wastland when I mix up my strategies a couple times within the match (HTDM). I usually start off sniping (or an AR class in TDM), but then switch to UMP/witch build (I have no qualms about witching in the campgrounds of wasteland) and run the perimiter to take out snipers.
Please make the lives of anyone with the clan-tag [BNP] extremely painful and short. It's basically the british version of the group you're talking about, but they're not smart enough to get the pillows out.

Meanwhile, back on topic - when are they gonna patch the xbox version to remove the infinite care package thing (have they done the PS3 / PC yet?) because the silliness has reached epic proportions.

He asked if it was effective against a chopper gunner. Not a chopper. It is effective against choppers, both attack and pavelow. It is very not effective against chopper gunners, because their bullets NEVER hit you straight on anyways, they always bounce off like 7 walls and hit you from behind, which will still happen if you have a riot shield on.

well it's not effective against chopper gunner because chopper gunner fires explosive ordinance which tends to squish even the manliest of riot shields that are made of invincibilium.

Did I miss a whole conversation about how organized leagues, namely MLG, suck the fattest of fat cocks?
Because they totally do.
Oh, and I ran into my first care package spammers over the weekend. I was less than pleased and made it my mission to hunt them down.
Elitist douchenozzles are all that exist in the MLG enviornment. I understand that it's a profession for these people, but that does not give you the right to talk down to people like slaves in colonial America.
I just find it hilarious how many of these kids on XBL have "xxLEGiiT NUKE MLGxx" as their gamertag and yet can't pull a 1:1 ratio, using ACRs, Blingteen87s, and OMA pro pipes.
Yeah, it wasn't the video, so much as the commentary... "Billy bob--super camper." It boils down to a faked-southern accent talking about controlling "the Alamo," how one dude chasing another dude just ain't right, and drinking the delicious tears of people who cry "camper" in the game lobby.
Starting to get addicted to this game a little bit. At the same time I'm a little intimidated by all the unlocks, etc. It takes me a good little bit of time to unlock even the earlier things so I can't imagine how long unlocking everything will take. I guess I should start sucking less.
Anybody feel free to add me if you don't mind playing with somebody who sucks.
My thoughts on the pot leaf icons: I rolled my eyes a little bit when I saw that IW actually put those in to cater to "those guys". The thing is I'm sure I would have been using them when I was a teenager and more *enthusiastic* about smoking pot. I guess that's not saying I wasn't a bit of a silly goose then myself.
I'm sure there has to be at least one cool dude rocking that call sign.
I can't wait to get to lvl 42 just so I can get the Ranger and complete the Both Barrels challenge. I need to be using that shotgun shell emblem to show my love for the SPAS.
Man, last night was probably the worst so far in terms of EAD glitchers per game. I'm gonna give it another shot tonight, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Last night was ridiculous. I don't know if I was just unlucky or what but probably half of my games consisted of care package glitchers. Apparently it's caught on. I was so aggravated. I'm not going to be playing again until the patch comes out. It's just ridiculous.
I just wanna say that i can officially confirm the 'nuke out of a care package' thing... I got it to work (for testing purposes only, ofcourse) and it's legit. Modding a file in the installation folder makes every care package and EAD drop a nuke. You have to be the host though.

I actually came against it a while ago (posted about it), in the aftergame lobby the guy was shit talking a storm, apparently he even found a way to guarantee he was host so he could do it every game. Granted it doesn't seem like many know about it, but I doubt it'll stay small for long. Hopefully gets patched out sometime soon.

I don't like the SPAS. Takes too long to rack up a new shell. I'll stick with the first shotgun you unlock because you can just squeeze off three or four rounds in a row.

After about 5 matches trying to kill someone with it, I launched one at the fuselage group in Afghan. The missile pops out, up, and slams into an enemy Pavelow that happened to pass overhead from off map. The shot was a dumbfire as far as the chopper was concerned, so no flares - I quit the Jav while I was ahead.

Thats what I love about these warfare games. Thier sandbox aspects allow for some pretty funny stuff. You always hear WW2 stories of the crazy coincidental things happening that saved/cost people's lives. Games are now getting to the point where they can reproduce that.
