I'm not getting DJ but I didn't know Vegas was out =(
Creative day is just a reminder to try and do creative things; art, guitar, write. If I have a reminder I feel guilty if I don't do it since I can't claim I forgot =p
Anti - I've been trying to do that but I turn into a bum sometimes. Usually the reminder will get me back on track and at the very least I'll get ONE day of productivity.
This is a shared calendar so I don't want everything on there (like the EQ expansion) but most stuff on every Tuesday of that month I want except Sims 3 =(
I have a great way of forcing you guys not to pick things up on release day (or to really shift your purchasing habits in order to accommodate the occasional day 1 pickup): It's a pricey, but effective multi-year rehabilitation program called "grad school." :P The plus side is that aside from VC2, I haven't paid full retail for a game in months.
DS releases have been winding down lately, and I barely have time for console games anymore, so the only games I can think that I really want this fall are the new Professor Layton, Etrian Odyssey 3 (which I had a coupon to get for $20) and possibly Rock Band 3 on 360 as a Christmas gift. My wife might actually enjoy playing DKC Returns, though, so I might grab that.

Or you can do as I do and just not buy any games until they hit $30 or below. (Unless there's a crazy deal like the Halo Reach thing I posted earlier.

There are only certain games I will pick up on launch day. These games include Halo and Gears of War. Besides those, I usually wait until it's about half the price it is on launch.
Only chumps buy games on release unless they get released at a reduced price. Exceptions to this rule are Ace Attorney and Nintendo games because those never go down in price.
OK, slightly off topic, but how do I get in on this Subway PS3 thing? I went to frenzy.subwayfreshbuzz.com, logged in, copied some random codes that were posted in this thread, put the peppers on squares, and came up with nothing. Played 3 times. Did I just not get lucky, or is it possible that the codes posted in here were already used and therefore invalid?
Do people only play codes that they personally get from Subway, or do the ones found on the internet work also? I only eat there once a week, and I don't think I order the right thing, because I've never gotten a code.

Codes come on large drinks, their special new sun chips, and something else I cant remember.

Only scrubs haven't had Civ5 pre-ordered for months.

The sun chips all have the same code, so once you use that once you can't use it anymore.
All the cups are uniquely printed though.
My usual Subway haunt is out of cups so this promotion is pretty much dead for me.

I've only won stuff through the pepper thing, I had to play something like 3 times a day for 5 days.
Is there another way to win?

True, as a general rule. There are freakish occurrences like Demon's Souls or the (like, five-year-later) second release of Nocturne - but those are the exceptions to the Atlus rule.

There are way more exceptions than that.
You know what I mean, the exceptions are few and far between and most are predictable. It's why I laugh at the whole gaming is expensive thing and the whining over £50 RRP for HD games. You just wait a few weeks and one online retailer will be selling it for £15. Couple that with all the fantastic downloadable games (and the sales of those on Steam/PSN/XBL) and gaming has never been cheaper. You can pick up buckets of games on a small budget if you exhibit a bit of patience.
So that huge block of fall releases? Almost all of those will be on sale for a third or less of the RRP by the end of January. No need to sink a few hundred pounds just to play them a month or two early.
This is the case in Europe anyway, ymmv elsewhere!

Not nearly high enough for a decent print, I'd say. Besides, that ugly fucking foot completely ruins the image for me. Disgusting foot. Look at that big toe.

I dunno. You could get a decent quality print out of it.
If anything, I can make a PSP wallpaper out of it. Once I get bored of my VC 2 wallpaper, anyway.

No, I agree with that. Gaming is only expensive as you make it. Usually the older, cheaper games are better anyway. Halo Reach was the first full priced game I've bought for a couple years now, and that's only because I'm a huge Halo fan. My rule is usually wait until it's 30 dollars or below to buy.
So my games showed up this morning. All the cases managed to get broken spines down the bottom, which is slightly disappointing.
God damn MGS4 has hideous boxart.

Eh, enough places near me have release day discounts, upwards for 20% - 30% sometimes, that make me happy enough to grab games on day 1. I can't remember the last day 1 game I bought at full price.
Rizzi - really? I really like their cover art they did for the European MGS 4. Pretty sure it's by Ashley Wood.
edit, no it's not. It's similar to his art though.
Only problem I have now is that I can't decide what to play first.
Well, you certainly could do worse than the GoW3 intro. :P
Man, that game deserved to make a bigger splash than it did.
Totally. That's one of the best 30-45 minutes in gaming.
Shame about the ending, though. But lately I've been chipping away at a fourth play through GoWIII, and every time I switch over from Valkyria Chronicles 2 and play another half hour or hour of God of War, it's just... phenomenal. It's a phenomenal game.

My copy of Wet I bought from them had a broken spine too. Luckily I didn't care about the game and shipped it off after getting sick of it. Good disc quality, though. Especially for PS3 games.

I'd leave off God of War 3 a bit, if only so you aren't completely underwhelmed by other games. Give MGS 4 a go first, and have VC on a slow burn playthrough when you want a break from other games.
Picked this up yesterday for $25 on craigslist brand new! Played an hour so far and really liked it. Then again my last JRPG was FFX with Tidus and his whiney ass

FFXIII is kind of polarizing.
It starts meh, then gets good, then ends meh.
Overall, I will say it is pretty good but it just falls short. Worth 25 bucks though.

Guess which games come out on the same day?
All 3 of them.
