Stalemates always beat Valve's dumb idea to have the winner of the most rounds automatically win the last round when time runs out, even if they were losing.
And it's even dumber that it can happen on cp_gorge even though it's an A/D map.

The fact that you don't appreciate a gametype where you have to actually tactically evaluate your situation in order to preserve your life so your team doesn't become distinctly disadvantaged, and do this all the time, rather than be able to just keep throwing yourself against the other team until their wall falls, does not make said gametype bad.
It just illustrates the point that somehow the gaming community has divided itself into deathmatch-camp and not-deathmatch-camp and only a select few actually see both as valid ways to play a game.
You overrate the tactics involved, it's just team DM with 1 death. I would actually say team DM in quake has more logistical tactics involved. Hell, the other TF2 maps are more tactical. Even so called tactical games are still mostly FPS basics, good aim and good environmental awareness.
I do love some good Ghost Recon and CS, but not in my TF2.

Tactically evalut..CRIT SCATTERGUN from way out of effective range you take 150dmg and die.

Twiddle thumbs for 3 minutes.
This is why crits need to be disabled for Arena.
This. The majority of arena servers I've played on/admin'd disable crits because yes, they break the game. And if you don't personally like the game mode in TF2? That's fine and your opinion, but you can't suddenly say "wow this is a really bad gametype because it's deathmatchy and doesn't belong in TF2". It's not a valid statement.
Dead people play competitive minesweeper but the minesweeper board is the map and when they find a mine it marks it for the people still alive. If your team is bad at marking mines then suddenly you get blown up from a landmine and lose the game

I'd much prefer 100% crits on arena to make you really think your tactics through.

I sent in a bug report about that the minute I saw it happen.

This is the perfect kind of arena.
I wish I could find a video to illustrate this, but in the original Warioware, the people sitting out could mess with the people currently playing. Like shake their screen to disorient them (when they're trying to aim or avoid being hit).
I think arena would be like, many times better without crits, and with something to do while you're dead.
Watching the frantic play for survival is what's fun. That's all you need. Especially when you are talking with your teammates about it.
Though it does get very boring when your down to two snipers who are hiding.
Blocks should start falling from the sky (That can instantly crush you to death) that make the map smaller and smaller until all that's open is the capture point.
I personally have always enjoyed BomberMan 64's ability to turn into a ghost and possess people after you've died. I'd be happy with pretty much anything though, even Pong.

Yeah, this was the best. I would kill myself at the start just to possess people.

How the hell? Really, I'd like to know, because between spies/scouts/soldiers/demos within 5 feet of me I'm dumbfounded by this.

I might start sketching out some ideas.

150 dmg body shots instant over any range with 100% accuracy and no need to scope

You can change your name? On the forums? Which deity do I speak to do this?
Joe's Stream.
Is there an update to the teamfortress page that I missed?
It's the newspaper on the main menu when you open up TF2.
edit: it says something like "What does this mysterious number mean for mankind?"
You speak truer words than you know.
I meant his steam name. He plays as deNyed, Mitchell from Maintenance, and posts as nealcm. He probably has some more aliases I don't know of!
Changing names on the forum is some sort of a weird gamble where they may change it to what you want or to whatever the hell they want.
Thanks for the heads up. It's obviously going to be a game type similar to Smash Bros Brawl where you go on a marathon melee again 100 competitors.
Or maybe a 100 year war of Engi vs Pyro
Also changing your name is a coin toss last time I checked. You can either get what you want or have a name made up for you by a mod.
