The only one I liked was Gliscor. All the other ones are lame, especially Milotic.

Most of them (minus the milotic) are pretty cool, especially the gliscor, carnivine, and weezing.

Seriously though, you could be infracted if you don't spoiler that.

    Yeah, it's a great design.

Carnivine is one of my favorite Pokemon from DPP.

I have been anticipating a Venus Fly Trap pokemon since Red&Blue, so while I'm glad one finally exists, it's inevitable that I would be a little disappointed. The design is alright, but it bugs me that they phoned it in by making it the billionth pokemon with Levitate. I was hoping for an ability or maybe a signature move that referenced the twist of it being a plant that eats bugs instead of the other way around.

Bulbapedia says Levitate is the most common with 28, and most of them are distinct pokemon evolution lines (unlike, for example, Blaze which is on twelve pokemon but only found in 4 evolutionary lines [fire starters]).

I've got a Victreebel named Big Mouth on my Blue cartridge who I took all the way to the Elite Four with me. Ah, the summers of my youth. Now he sits, trapped and lonely, unable to migrate to the DS. Sometimes I take it out and look at him. His googly eyes seem to have taken on an accusatory glare.

I'm so afraid of my old Pokemon GB cartridges' batteries dying soon and losing my dear Pokefriends from that era forever. It's the only games from that time where I really care about what happens to the savefiles because they are so personalized.

If you do replace them, be sure to tape them in or something. I've had to do it to my G/S/C carts, and Gold and Silver's batteries have managed to fall out

I sorta abandoned the teams I used to beat Ruby/Sapphire with and left them on the carts, but I think it's a good thing in case I decide to go in there and like, breed some stuff in a previous generation.

Oh, I should also be around tomorrow night after around 4pm EST if anyone wants to battle. No wi-fi here, otherwise I'd be asking for battles right now.

Or you could solder it in like a real man.

And I think you might be able to keep the save file intact through the change. You'd need to attach a temporary battery to the cart's leads before you disconnect the old battery. Of course, the whole idea just brings to mind "The Frogger" episode of Seinfeld.

Bah, I don't know how to solder. I just taped it there. It's tacky, but you won't notice a difference and there is no way it can burn because it doesn't get hot at all.

HOLY CRAB! I hatched a shiny Remoraid after saving and now I can soft reset for it!

    Spr_4h_223_s.png
    Jolly - Hustle

I'll keep soft resetting until I get the father Remoraid's speed, regardless of the other stats being less than perfect. I gave a power anklet to the Ditto so it would inherit its 0 speed IV (I'm breeding a Quiet one, but haven't gotten a nice Quiet mother, so I have a fricking US Ditto as one of the parents -______-) , but the good news is that since both the Remoraid father and the Ditto have power items (in different stats, of course), there is a chance that it will not inherit the Ditto's speed IV.

For the sake of hack checking legends and specific movesets, yes.

For example, legendary dogs with usable IVs can only come from Colosseum (Distant Land) and Johto, and Counter is only teachable by a tutor in the third gen for most Pokés.

The main problem with Grass is that they don't usually learn a move that counters their many counters, unlike Water types (which have a tendency to learn Ice attacks to counter Grass, and Water is at least neutral to Electric), and they have more weaknesses than Fire types. Grass usually make good support types though, and get access to Leech Seed while being immune to it.

's why I like Torterra. Earthquake wrecks any aspiring Fire types, and he has access to Stealth Rock and Stone Edge and others like that, which annihilates his other weaknessess.

I'm talking about against the elite four/NPC trainers. I have a roserade. I don't know why. At what point did I say "leveling this is a good idea."

I would have been much better off with a houndoom. The only elite four mon I think roserade would thrash is that one guy's quagsire.

Er, Roserade is pretty awesome, though. Stupid Special Attack, okay speed, and between Energy Ball, Extrasensory and Sludge Bomb, all you're worrying about is Steel. Not sure if Roserade packs anything that can deal with Steel.

Yeah but it doesn't do jack to cynthia, as I recall. I am on Platinum.

A houndoom on the other hand takes care of the bug guy and the psychic guy. My vaporeon takes care of the fire guy.

My team right now is roserade, vaporeon, rapidash, raichu.

    This needs fixing.

Off-topic, but I just read somewhere that the
Kanto region - this isn't a spoiler, is it?
is involved in Heart Gold/Soul Silver in some way. For me, that's very exciting. I was going to buy Platinum, but now I'll hold off...
the opportunity to make an all-old school Poke team is too enticing.
Anyone have any details on how this is going to work? I never played Gold or Silver (went from Blue to Pearl, kind of a big jump), so I'm curious.

Sorry if the spoiler tags are unnecessary... I'm not a part of the PA Pokemon community yet, so I don't know if you guys do extensive research or if you like to be surprised by new content.
