So if I preordered the super deluxe awesome edition on Steam, I used the Cd-Key to activate my account or whatever. How do I get my preorder items? I looked in the C-Store -> Special Items dropdown thing but there was nothing there
Right Click it and click on properties.
Then click visit site.
It should take you to the main site with your pre-order code.

When I do this it tells me the code has already been used, which makes sense because I used it to activate during the beta right?

Steam will have two keys in it now, you need to enter the retail key which was just released today

Ah okay, well it looks like they are having billing issues or something then because I've entered it a few times now and still nothing.
So, what type of missions provide the most loot. I'm LC 4 and I'm still poor. Everyone else is talking about having tons of cash. I seem to always get space potions or hypos, nothing worth selling.
uh, I was able to login to the game and play and it didn't prompt for a key. (I had preorder)
Anyone know why?
They're giving some cushion time, mostly in consideration of folks who might not get their hands on their copy of the game today due to shipping issues or whatnot.

IIRC you have through the 6th to input a retail key if you preordered before they'll cut off access.
So just to prevent myself from making a stupid mistake -- the special unlock items like the turrets and bloodwine et all -- they're available for ALL characters, not just one?

Looks like not being able to give your BOs the special uniforms is a bug and a dev said they are fixing it. Good. I didn't want to be one only one on my away team in a TOS uniform.

I've either had really bad luck with loot drops or they've lowered the loot rate from open beta. I've gotten next to nothing of interest. I did notice that the batteries are worth 100 credits each (I don't remember them being worth anywhere near that much before) and so you can make quite a bit just selling them. I'm pretty sure I had way more cash in OB -- I know I had enough to buy two extra ships by LtC6 or so).

I am currently at Lt Commander 1.
I've come across some good stuff personally.
I've found enough consoles to kit my ship out, found some phaser cannons that where later swapped for dual phaser banks as well as a disruptor turret that replaced my rear phaser. All my BOs (both of them) are packing rifles that I've found, and my captain has some insane looking grenade launcher thing.
I didn't spend much time in Beta so I don't know what the drop rates where like there, but I seem to have done fairly well considering I've only been playing a few hous. Haven't spent any points so I'm still an ensign though.

Ugh, With my playable game time I'm not going to hit LtCmdr till the weekend, I might be able to do it by Friday night, seems I can do a level a night....
Folks, having a baby and a wife really cuts down on game time...

The Chiron, for this one. Once I rank up, The USS Heart of Gold, since it's a Science Ship

Much love for the old-school, though I can't help feeling you took the green a bit too far when it comes to the deflector-dish.
Hm. Took Beam Weapons, Took Torpedo Weapons, took Cruiser Captain... Need to figure out what else to take. Any suggestions? Nothing looks super useful.

So I guess there is no grace period whatsoever so no STO for me tonight
Hm. Took Beam Weapons, Took Torpedo Weapons, took Cruiser Captain... Need to figure out what else to take. Any suggestions? Nothing looks super useful.
The rest really depends on what BOff powers you like. For example if you use Emergency Power to Shields, then Shield Maintenance will improve that skill. If you use Emergency Power to Weapons then Weapon Maintenance will improve it. Starship Emitters improves Tractor Beam. Starship Sensors improves Jam Sensors.
To check what skills affect which BOff powers, bring up the Powers list (hit the 'P' key while in Space). Then click on the power you are interested in. Most of them will list the specific Captain's skills which effect them.
Glad to hear that they are unlocking the WoK and TOS uniforms for BO's.
Anyone know how to get more blue research anomoly bits? I have 65-80 of each of the red ones, but for blue ones I'm at 10 or less for each type.
Scanning anomalies in the exploration areas without going into systems seems to have helped me get a lot more blues. I still need quite a few more before I can do the crafting I want though.

Hm. Right now I only really use Engineering Team. I was going to hold off until I saw the status effects start tp show up, as well as what stats say, my deflector gave et all do. Is that literally the only thing those skills do? Work on BOff skills, and allow me to train L3 BOff skills? I noticed that a higher sensor score on my deflector let me see targets further away...
Now officially done with the Klingons.
Onto the Romulans!
Level LC7 (17), almost 18. With the influx of new Episodes, I should hit 21 tomorrow, maybe. I like to humour myself into thinking I'm keeping up with the rest of everyone in the thread, but somehow I doubt it.

So, did they remove the extra trait from joined trill? Due to RL + waiting for the pre-order bonuses I didn't start up the game till last night, but I saw joined trill having 2 traits + 2 optional, instead of the 2+3 that was the incentive.

No, people just misunderstood what they were getting. Same happened with the Lifetime Borg, also only getting 4 traits.

...and when you are done with that; take a folding

Things that I have learned in leveling an Engie to 14 and a Science Nerd to 5
Ranks 8 and 9 in skills are useless do not put more than 7 points into anything. Rank 8 and 9 each give you +.5%, you could get a new skill to +10% with those same points
When you hit lvl 11 chose the Escort or the Science Ship even if you want to go into cruisers don't pick one until lvl 21. Science ships have better turn rates, are faster and give you Sub System targeting and you can still have 2 fore and 2 aft weapons. Escorts are even faster and have 3 fore weapons. Put your points into Cruisers but don't fly one.
All those anomaly things you pick up, leave them in your bank. You never need to have them on you ever.
As soon as you can go to Starbase 24 and fly to the center to do the mission where you beam onto the starbase. The shield reward you can get really changes the early game.
Transwarp is your friend and every time you go to sol and sell stuff dump some credits into the fleet bank.
That's all I can think of right now, anyone else?
Also, are borg bridge officers ever getting their unique traits or did they screw us with a bait and switch?

Do I look like the sort of man who'd go and find unsuspecting Japanese schoolgirls in short skirts and white panties and ask them if they want to see my "Cthulu Special"?

I dunno about you guys, but I'm starting to really like the look of the Excalibur-class.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)

Oh, I also got a tribble somewhere.
FUCK. and I just hit 21 on what has so far been my main.
ugh.
Yeah, I was dead-set on a Constitution until I started tinkering with replacing parts, by the time I had a look I liked it was 100% Excalibur.
The Vesper class has a cool art deco thing going for it too, though. Really there's not a bad-looking ship in the game.

so it seems that your deluxe items are once per character (minus the 500 CP)

Tier 2 Science vessels are extremely plain. Other than that, I like most of the ships.
