God Cake, that is the best feeling ever. Like, just the excitement of getting a commission is half the fun of it. Anticipation. Like Christmas, except not shitty.
oh boy I cant wait for tonightttt, hey cakemikz/bacon do either of you plan ACTUALLY showing up? I dont think i've seen either of you at the friday workshop yet this term
I probably won't be there because I'm trying to figure out why my computer is still dead, even with the new processor. Looks like I'm stuck with my little underpowered laptop until I figure it out, or more importantly, can afford to actually do anything about it when I do.
On the plus side, I got my camera and it's pretty sweet. Might be doin' some photowhorin' later tonight.
Did you ground yourself before you touched the motherboard? You may have fried it.
Also, make sure it's the correct socket type. Some AM3s won't work with an AM2 Mobo.
EDIT: Yes, I know I am running the risk of looking like an idiot, because you probably know more about this stuff than I do. Just trying to help.
I did ground myself and I do have the correct socket type, but I'm not going to count out the possibility of the mobo being shot. It's either (listed in order of "most fucked" to "least fucked) the mobo, the PSU, or the CMOS battery. The POST code on the mobo LED display gives me 8.d., which translates to "VDDA 2.5 Voltage Ready" and "GMCHVTT Voltage Ready", which, provided the mobo itself isn't fucked, would indicate to my un-IT-educated ass that it's one of the two latter options. I just can't afford to go get a new PSU unless I know for sure that's going to fix it...and I sure as hell can't afford a new mobo.
EDIT: Times like this I wish I was a dumb old lady so I could yell at my brother for having a degree in computer science but he doesn't even know how to fix a gosh-darned computer.
Hey, my suspicions were correct! I have no idea what you said in that middle part!
PSU= Power Supply Unit.
POST code= code that shows on a display on the motherboard, showing what part of the boot process is being performed...so if you actually know what shit means, it theoretically will help diagnose problems if you have problems booting up. I have the problems, but I don't know what the shit really means- so until I figure that out (google hasn't been all that helpful yet), all I can do is blunder about lobbing theories around.
CMOS battery= battery that keeps energy going to the mobo so it can store shit store shit like BIOS settings and date/time when the computer isn't on. Maybe it does other cool things as well but AFAIK that's what it does. I had one die on me before and while it did some weird shit, it didn't fuck things up this much.
Computer problems were a lot more fun back when I was a kid and therefore didn't personally have to pay for things.

If you're asking me, looked like she wanted to get shot, dressing like that.

EDIT: Also [Chatting] should at least be [CHATTING].

Terrible show, but great title.

Just got home from St. Louis, got greeted by a huge snow storm and a letter saying I'm on the dean's list. I think I'm on super secret probation.
Also, I ordered $300 worth of material, and a I'm thinking about buying suspenders.
Its like Santa's list only you get raped by Dean instead of presents.
