Change is good on my server. More frost lotus = cheaper frost lotus. Apparently, the prices of frost lotus and flasks are completely independent on EU-Arathor, seeing as Frost lotus is between 70 and 100g apiece) and flasks are like 30g apiece.
yeah man i'm totally gonna buy some frost lotus and make some flasks i mean it's not like i can only turn a profit if i proc more than two and i mean that happens all the time right oh wait
I dont like it. I liked that flasks were getting some value on my server. This will just lower the prices and thus the profit.
Not to mention more frost lotus will just flood the market
If Frost Lotus do flood the market won't that lower the costs of making the Flask you are concerned about?
The cost is zero when you farm the mats up yourself, he wants to sell them.
Though by using up that Frost Lotus you are paying an opportunity cost, it should all be relative. Personally, faster farming is worth more to me than more profits.
Is there a lighter alternative to Recount? I think it is making my framerate tank in 25s.
Which sucks, because I have a beefy machine. I don't understand how my performance gets so bad sometimes.
If you're just looking for something to parse incoming damage, there's a mod called Grim Reaper that displays the last (x) or so hits against a given target and incoming heals. Handy if you think healing isn't up to snuff as it shows if they're not healing people/the right people.
If you're looking for a DPS meter, I think recount is the best you'll get and I think in a 25man you can just rely on other people having it.
Well, I had a lot of fun trying to find that post. They used to put it in General, but now they have a different post by an entirely different name that isn't it either, but links to the proper post in the service status forum. And the previous fixes thread isn't in that forum either, it's in the archive section.

This is not true. The cost is (money you would earn farming the most efficient way possible (highest gp/hour)) - (money earned by farming frost lotus).

Economics comprehension FTW.
Umm dude. If I go and farm some frost lotus, the game doesn't subtract gold from my character when I pick some flowers. It's free. If you happen to kill some incidental mobs you also make some money from the drops.
Technically, he references that with opportunity cost.
Pffft. Reading is for silly gooses. Real men only read the first line of a post.
Definitely!

Erm, im not sure what the confusion was. I am an alchemist. I make money when things sell for more. When the price goes down, the profit goes down.
Unless of course you make more. But the market will be flooded, and stuff wont sell as often.
So basically, I dont like it. The drop rate of Frost Lotus is meaningless to me when I cant ninja a 20 stack for half the price and make 50g per flask off someones mistake.

All material farming has a cost. Either the cost is gold spent in the AH or the cost is time spent farming it.
People who don't value their time will think of material farming as being free, people who do value their time will take that value into account when determining how much those mats are worth to them.

People who are morons will think of material farming as being free, people who aren't will take that value into account when determining how much those mats are worth to them.
I didn't even know this was a thing. Obviously I meant what all you guys are saying. First guy was thinking in terms of only making money, not how the time spent makes it all relative.

No, I meant the implication that people bring this up deliberately because it's funny or something.
It's weird how people can put their brain through so much hijinx to disbelieve in economic concepts.
Given the rate that time-saving measures have been implemented in wow, it is logical for all of us to take a good year and a half break. Who knows what will happen! Account bound items that boost new characters to level 60? All crafting cooldowns reduced to hours instead of days? Everything that used to cost 500 gold will cost 50, and gold will be earned at triple the current rate? Every time sink that Cata introduces will be cut in half or more?
Think of all the profit from that. Plus we wouldn't be paying real world dollars for that subscription either!

I use Acheron for my "what happened to them before they died" mod.
And my guess on the Frost Lotus buff is since they destroyed all the Frost Lotus nodes in Freya's room they've seen a marked decrease in Frost Lotus across the board.

There's going to be a patch 3.4? Are we going to have Deathwing rumbling around underground shaking surface buildings for several months before the expansion's released?

Well, they said there's going to be a PvE and PvP content patch before Cataclysm because they're silly geese and put out Icecrown too early.

Well every now and then I've been seeing mini "earthquakes" around northrend. Enough where people have posted about it and blues have responded. So it's already been kinda going on.

Yeah, it seems that he linked the wrong post. However, after digging around I did find a Blizzard post: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22748763261&pageNo=1&sid=1#0

Does it let you turn off individual modules?
In the very least, I use skada, and certain fights had a significantly negative effect on my framerate until I turned off a bunch of modules.
Because both of you fail at reading. You'll note that it says "To review previous in-game fixes, please visit: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...23843880&sid=1."

If you read his entire post.
(Although, I'm not sure if opportunity cost is the right term, but that's what people often use it for on here.)

Yeah you are the best goosing troll ever.
This discussion as well as the hybrid vs pure dps, and the DKP discussions are my favorites.
If frost lotus is 75g or 30g I am still going to charge (mat cost) + 20g for a 2 pack.

Sorry dude but you broke it with your edit. You may want to try again.

So mini-content patch or balance patch?
All that rested XP!

Probably preparing for 3.4.

I'm actually happy they put it out when they did, ToC was boring my guild to death.
Oh they did?
