It's a game that probably didn't take much longer to make than it does to beat. It has simple controls and a very basic theme. There is no hidden depth, deep meaning, or art here. It's an interesting 20 minute distraction with neat graphics and nice music.

    And the gameplay is fine.

Is it a screamer? Is it like UncleSporky's Don't Eat the Mushroom?

I didn't intend for it to be a screamer, just a mushroom induced freakout. :)

Anyway this is pretty typical for games of this type posted at this forum, the guy who posts it is all cryptic which turns out to be completely unwarranted. It's not a bad little game but it's just mechanics that have been done before (both gameplay and story).

It's like Karoshi or Portal without the attempt at humor, and its ending is a letdown as usual - people get these decent ideas and don't come up with a good way to end them. Story reminded me of 1213 without the quality and actual ending.

    Good graphics and music though.

Man, thanks for reminding me of 1213. That was a fun little game.

Cute game, but the Deceit room is really poorly designed. The challenge should be in the fact that the last gem jumps are really tough, not in the fact that you have to slog through the tedious first half (I assume it's half anyway) of the room before you can attempt the gem jumps.

    It's a decent little timewaster, I suppose.

This is probably not true. Gamemaker can be useful but it doesn't give you every tool you need right off the bat, there's a lot of programming involved. I bet it took way longer to make and test each level than to play them, let alone program them. All the effects like the lines at the bottom and rotating squares in the background, pulsating circles, and the pixel art...there were probably some ideas that didn't work, some levels that had to be scrapped. And the music probably took a long time to make too.

I got to the Deceit level and the gem jumping part, loved it up until that part, then I got frustrated and quit. I liked what I did see though. Playing it last night after drinking as much whiskey as I did made me really hate the narrator and feel bad about the player. It feel really deep to me at the time.

The last "gem dodge" area isn't so tough when you figure out you can
stack spikes to make little bridges.

Fun. Cute little 15 minute experience. Ending was a bit weak and I wouldn't have got what they were going for at all unless I'd read Sporky's post.

I think the ending would have worked a bit better if they had reinforced the "He's after you" thing. They said it one time at the start and it didn't really mean much.

Whats the deal with symmetry. They show destructible blocks but they aren't destructible. It appears that I am stuck.

Perhaps they are a shadow of... OTHER destructible blocks.
