This game is so incredible, I had to create an account here because none of my friends have it and I needed to talk about it!
I'm very worried about what's going to happen with Kelly. I'm sure by now a lot of you have heard or seen that you can get her to strip/cuddle with you after the main quest if you didn't romance anyone else and had dinner with her. It doesn't seem like she counts as an actual romance, and the dance and all that is just an easteregg/youbeathegamebonus which is upsetting because I really want a romance with her to carry over to ME3.

Wow! That's dedication!
Don't worry, even little choices are revisited in ME2, even some of the seemingly really, really minor stuff. I don't think they'll miss out your little pow-wow with Ms. Chambers.

I'm wondering if someone eventually will figure out how to grab the face model for Tali (texture will likely be black with only eyes done).

I thought people discovered in the first game that there is no face model; it's just a couple glowing eyes and a noselooking lump. Probably the same in the second game.

People did already figure out how to see Tali's face in ME1 by clipping the camera through her visor. Her face model wouldn't be very attractive to many people, but it was never meant to be seen, so who can say if that's how quarians are really meant to look?

At some points in ME2, in the right light, Tali will turn her head and you can see a distinctive face model under there.

Well that's the thing, you never actually pow pow with her. She just strips, sits in your lap, or cuddles with you. There's no intercourse involved. I wouldn't be upset because yeah like you said, even stuff like Conrad Verner from 1 was in 2, but all the other romances give you an achievement or a pre suicide mission cutscene. I would really like Kelly to be able to catfight with Ashley in ME3, and I guess all i can do is keep a save with her until ME3. I've never worried about a fictional universe so much before. I'm already compiling and sorting saves based on romances and choices like i did in the weeks before ME2 came out!
I wish I could just throw myself down a flight of stairs and be in a coma until ME3 comes out!!
Does anyone know when I get respec training available? I'm on my second playthrough and need to re-organize my skill points for my bonus power, but I can't remember when it shows up in the upgrade menu.

Kelly isn't considered a full romance option for a reason. You are being a sleazy executive abusing your position of power (both literal and mental, Kelly is star struck by Shepards celebrity status) to bang your secretary. It's not an equitable relationship.

As I said before, I'm pretty sure Kelly was there as just something for people who didn't want to cheat on their previous romance. Given how little you see of them (you see more of Liara, which is cool, but Kaiden and Ashley are just little cameo appearances) staying with them through ME2 would be pretty boring from a character interaction perspective.
I'm wondering if my male Shepard should hit everything it can or just Tali.

Guffaw! I used my dashing charm and roguish good looks to seduce Kelly. And if kelly's not an equitable relationship, but femShep fucking a Frogman and/or Raptor man IS?!!

Supposedly, this was taken from the game assets. It's not a full-blown face, though. No texture. Gives you an idea of what she (supposedly) looks like under the helmet.

She's not only your secretary. She's also the ship psychologist. I'd call it a bit of hands on reassurance under distress :winky:

I thought Liara was pretty meh in this game. There's like a whole two lines about the previous romance, and I don't know, her entire appearance feels fake somehow.
I kind of like the approach, her not throwing herself all over you but instead she has moved on and become independant over the two years, but something about it just feels off.
That being said I haven't beaten the game yet, and they could also have plenty planned for 3, but my general opinion so far is eh.
I mean Ashley's appearance was much shorter but it seemed more genuine somehow.
Four hours into my second play through. The end kind of snuck up on me just past the 24-hour mark last time.
The playstyle of engineer apparently suits me better than soldier did - but Geth shielding appears to be an awful crutch. Going to have to figure something out for more defense, and early.
Oh and also, the 50,000 of each element and cheaper research fees insures a second play-through. Bioware is getting too good.

when you are creating a shepard, go all the way downthe list, past "confirm apperance" and theres a thing that says "enter code" or somesuch. then, you put in that ridiculously long thing (without periods--they are there for readability) and you will get the exact settings that i used for my manshep
i know, its pretty great when im doing another playthrough, and i decided near the end of last time that Shep's cheeks were WAY too large, but everything else was great
Where do you go to download the artbook and soundtrack that came with the deluxe edition?
They're in your ME2 Steam directory.
WARNING: Do not read the artbook until you have finished the game.
If the downloadable artbook is like the one included in the boxed CE, definitely do not read it as there is an endgame spoiler. That being said, if you're fairly far along in the game it's not much of a revelation. You could see it coming.
when you are given the chance to rebuild him, and choose "Custom", it gives you a default to start with, instead of YOUR custom to start with. I just wanted to tweak him a bit, give him a beard maybe, but nooooo, they want me to rebuild him from scratch. :P
I think it should be said that it is total bullshit that Shepard sees Tali's face and I do not.

Okay, so I'm doing a bunch of companion missions, and still haven't recruited Samara, and Illusive Man wants to talk to me again. This is the second time he's done this. is this one of the 'point of no return' missions?

Well you could just take the character code of your imported Shepard, stick that into the custom creator, then tweak it.
But yeah they should have made just tweaking the face simpler.
I'm just wondering---after you beat the Collectors, can you talk to any non-Normandy characters about it? Like Anderson or Wrex or any of them?
Nope. Every single person in the ship says something about it but outside of that, nada. Gotta wait for ME3.
Anderson doesn't even say anything new after your first meeting. His appearance felt like fanfare more than anything truly important. I wish he had more to do in the game.
Am I missing something, or is the engineer's drone really, like, the shittiest ability in the game by several orders of magnitude?
The only possible use I can see for it - at least on hardcore - is that maybe after you get it up to level 4 and make it blow up when it dies, it might be useful, depending on how much damage/how large the radius is on the explosion.
At level 3 now, it's an absolute joke of an ability.
I have my squad mates use it because the thing auto-taunts enemies, but I probably wouldn't sink points into it as Shepard.
If it gets farted on while playing on Insanity, it dies, and the explosion doesn't even put a dent in varren armor.
It's worse than Cryo Ammo.
It's basically a "hey, look over there" ability to get enemies to turn around for a second or two. It's pretty useless for anything else.
For insanity, I can only see the soldier, infiltrator, and sentinel being viable. Biotic charge is suicide, drones are useless, and adepts are just too squishy. Also, Vanguards, Engineers, and Adepts just don't have as many options for taking down defenses, and every enemy has defenses.
Been playing on Insanity quite a bit as an Adept. Using Reave as my bonus power helps quite a bit, to get back in the fight. Using Miranda and Grunt almost exclusively for various reasons. The last battle at Horizon was crazy. Adepts are pretty gimped on Insanity especially if you start from scratch. I barely made it through Grunt's recruitment mission.
