So I'm liquidating some of the old videogames and dvds I've had sitting around gathering dust, and find myself with a rather large chunk of cash when combined with my tax return funds. With these spoils, I've decided to be a terrible greedy consumerist and buy an Xbox 360 to complement my PS3! There are a few Xbox exclusives that I've been wanting to get my hands on for a long time, you see.
First off, I was wondering which Xbox bundle I should buy! Should I save a bit of money for games and get the arcade version, or spring for the spiffy black elite version with all the bells and whistles? Would it be overall a better idea to just buy the hard drive and other accessories separately?
Secondly, I need game suggestions! So far I'm thinking both Mass Effects and Banjo Kazooie (just because I loved the hell out of that series as a kid), but after that I'm a little lost. There are so many choices! As a side note, I'm not a huge fan of FPS games, mainly because I bring suckage to staggering new levels when I try to play them. So any advice?
Nextly, I was wondering how people are feeling about their Xbox purchases? Do ya like them? Feel it's worth it? Any people out there who already have a PS3/ Xbox combo?
Thanks for reading!

Buying a bigger harddrive alone is fucking expensive when its Microsoft. As for games there is plenty of good games for Xbox360.
To list a few:
Fallout 3 - one of the best games ever in my honest opinion.
Borderlands - FPS/Diablo hybrid.
Bioshock - It's classy and with a great athmosphere.
The Orange Box - Halflife 2 + episode 1&2, Team Fortress, Portal.
Mass Effect - just get it, should be cheap too.
Mass Effect 2 - better than the first one.
Shadow Complex (an Xboxlive arcade game) - similar to Metroid, and its awesome.
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (an Xboxlive arcade game) - Its a basic RPG where you fight by playing Bejeweled, simply brilliant.
The Arcade doesn't come with a hard drive at all and the first three games you mentioned are available on the PS3 as well. You definitely want an Elite with a hard drive (or an Arcade with a used hard drive if you can find one for cheap). Installing games and getting DLC is a must. For instance Fable II made my 360 (before I got a hard drive to install it on) sound like a jet was landing in my living room. Constantly.
Gears Of War I and II (I'm terrible at FPS' too, but I loved these), Alan Wake (when it comes out), Fable II (and III when it comes out), Dead Rising. Also, Tales Of Vesperia is North America only on the 360 as well.
Oh and buy Bioshock.
It's great.

I made the mistake of buying an Arcade - You can get by without a HDD but sooner or later you'll need one. Especially for all the online content like Live Arcade Games and DLC. The Elite also should have a second controller, which is always nice. The headset is crappy - You can get a third-party adapter for cheap that lets you use any headset.
Games: Brütal Legend if you're into Metal and/or RTS and/or Multiplayer. Mass Effect 1 and 2 just because. Castle Crashers from Live Arcade because it's a great side-scrolling hack 'n' slash and lots of fun in coop. Maybe The Game With Zombies In It from the Indie Game Section because it's hella cheap and a nice waste of time.
And Disney World is nowhere in sight.
If you have a PC that can run Mass Effect well, just go that direction. You'll be begging for a mouse in that game. Same goes with Orange Box since Xbox TF2 rarely, if ever, gets updated.
Bayonetta is on both 360 and PS3 but runs and looks better on the 360. It's an immensely fluid and satisfying action game if you can get past how silly it is. Thankfully it doesn't really try to take itself seriously.
My friend regretted his Arcade purchase, even though he got it for effectively $100 at Walmart during their sale. Spring for the Elite.
Doesn't the Arcade only have 256 or 512 MB of storage or am I reading that wrong?
Also, here's a link you might find useful if you want wireless
HOW TO: Cheap Wireless For Your Xbox 360
Summary: $30 (for a used WRT54G and some headache-inducing tinkering = same functionality as the $85+ adapter Microsoft offers)
Then get Miner: Dig Deep in the indie games for $1 and kiss hours of your life away.
My Backloggery
I'm not sure about exclusives I'd recommend other than the first three I mentioned.
Well, since you asked in bold...:P My favorites would probably be RPG and Action games! Some of my all-time favorite games include Shadow of the Colossus, Tales of Symphonia, Paper Mario: TTYD, and a couple of Final Fantasy games. Demon's Souls is also fun.
Lost Odyssey is pretty great.
You'll thank us later.
Tales of Vesperia is another solid RPG recommendation, especially if you're in to Action RPGs.
Unlike the person above I would recommend against Gears of War if you're bad at first person shooters. I'm trying to finish the first one to write an article on certain aspects of it, and it's way too difficult for me. I really, really suck though, so if you were being modest you may get in to them. (As a sidenote, does anyone want to play the original Gears of War co-op with me?)
Bayonetta is mandatory if you like Action games. It channels Devil May Cry and God Hand pretty heavily.
I also recommend Viva Pinata, which is unlike anything you said you like but super adorable and super addictive. It's also dirt cheap.
It of course comes with ODST, but it also comes with a second disc that has all the DLC Halo 3 will ever have on it, which can be used to play Halo 3 multiplayer with anyone. Otherwise buying all the DLC would cost a bit (600msp + 800msp + 800msp = 28$)
You can buy certain original Xbox titles and play them on the 360. Compatibility list is here.
And you liked Tales of Symphonia
