This thread probably borderline breaks the rules. I checked over, and I didn't see any restrictions against "panhandling for friends," but it's a labor of love, so beg I must. With less than edit: 3-day passes sold out, things are getting complicated. Conventions like this are only time we get to see our dear friend Alexis, and it's often only once a year at best.

ANY FUNDS NOT USED will be refunded through paypal, so if the trip does not go through, your donation will be returned to you.
I'm sure many of you have made some of your best friends through gaming, and as the nature of these friendships, we all live very far apart - the few times we get to enjoy each other's company are few and far between. Thanks for your time, consideration, and donation. You are wholly awesome. Although we can't promise to take you to dinner if the drive is a success, we will set up a "meet up time" if there is a demand for it, or attended a concert together.

But if its just for the entire trip altogether then this is probably gonna get closed. I think everyone going to PAX has a friend who couldn't make it because they didn't have the money. I know of about 10 people right now off the top of my head that couldn't afford to go with me and my 3 friends in March.
I'd just tell you friend to start saving up for PAX Prime over Labor Day weekend.
He can cover the ticket, but needs help with airfare. His savings can cover maybe half of it =(
I figured this will probably get shut down, but I had to try. The donation drive started on twitter, we have $35 as of this posting out of a probably needed 100 or 150. The max is set to 250, but I we may be able to swing it for less.
If we could afford it, we would - but this trip has already tapped a lot of us out. We're coming from all corners of the nation, and all of the money in donation already has been donated by us. I mostly set it up for that reason, but it's become pretty clear that we can't afford it on our own. We aren't exactly rolling in the money - just getting ourselves there has taken each of us some fancy budgeting. Airfare is really expensive =(
EDIT: I should clarify that we all live in different states, none of us live near each other at all.
