Would anyone be interested in an spoilered archive for the Ambitions? I mean, my Dangerous will probably never be high enough to do Bag a Legend, but I wouldn't mind hearing about someone else's exploits. For my part I've got Light Fingers up to 21-22.

Also item spoiler for aforementioned. I don't know the result because I didn't have one, but make sure when you get to 18-ish
before you go insane, grab at least 1 Tincture of Vigor (or whatever the wound remover is)

Hazzah! Also I found a card that lowers your nightmare rating [moment of tranquility] though not by much.

Once you've reached 5 in a multi-part storylet, is there any way to continue advancing your quality once you've left it? The only way I can find to raise it to 7+ is to never leave it. If I do leave it, I simply get the 'conclude' option.

Do Recurring Dreams ever reach a climax? Or do they just keep building and building? I really dig The Fire Sermon, and I want to know if it's ever going to make sense.

An early watchful one required you to 'test' the quality you were building and had a more risky, higher reward, conclusion.

When I went to Royal Bethlehem for insanity I got an Op card that allowed me to try to burn the place down, unlocked by Fire Sermon 4 or such.

I found that at Persuasive 9 in veil garden you get a storylet called Seduce a Struggling Artist. Perform the build up tasks [you can build it up past the required number for better odds at the higher difficulty reward option]. When its high enough you
Choose to not rat on him and by doing so raise the Bohemian trait. You can turn him in to and the storylet will remain open to be repeated again in the future.

Edit: Tried finding Saiph42 and PJStelford but the twitter search option couldn't find either. :(

Ah, I think the twitter search uses your entered name, rather than username. I'm listed as just Saiph on that. Regardless, you should be able to find Saiph42 on your list of followers now, so I'll be easier to find for a game of chess or whatnot.

Hmmm....so apparently it's a 1 = 1 relation for change points needed to the next level, huh?

(So in other words, you need 40 change points to hit level 40 in whatever skill (from 39))

This to me implies the optimal way to play would be working on your two primaries until you hit about 20s-30s in those skills, then work on your two secondary skills (in this way, you'll have a shitload of "extra chance" items to play with and, on top of that, on the multi-part location-based storylets you can just take the ones for your (super overlevelled) primaries and insta-pass everything, giving your secondaries maximal change points at the conclusion of those storylets for minimal effort

    Then wash-rinse-repeat for 40s-50s, 70s-80

The biggest pet peeve for me, to date, is the reset. I'd much prefer a set time than the rolling reset they currently do. My reset keeps creeping later and later in the day until I finally have to skip a day of play to return it to a reasonable time, minor annoyance but annoying all the same.

Reasons not to engage in verbal slander with an urbane and observant gentleman like myself.
You spit foul recriminations and vicious calumny. Ladies faint dead away and gentlemen stagger under the barrage. Your target runs, weeping, with her hands over her ears. You follow her! Your tirade continues in the street, where hansoms careen hastily off and urchins fall from rooftops. You pick up your victim's dropped letters and wave them as a final salute. You are spent.

Also, Rent: that has been more or less my strategy. Many of the Running Battles/Inspiring.../etc can key off your primary stats which, when completed, can give a nice boost to your secondary/tertiary attributes.

    Yeah

Among other things, a huge peeve of mine is auto usage of second chance items upon failure of a challenge

The item thing seems especially odd, considering how at least some of those items have other uses, most notably the role Sudden Insights play in nightmare counselling.

Speaking of which, I'll probably be hitting up Machism up on his offer soon, as I've just hit nightmare 6, and dream cards keep rolling in. So if anyone else wants to swap unpleasant nighttime stories, feel free hit me up (Saiph42).

So, is there any current use for your "Personality" type qualities? For example, I've got Magnanimous 4. Is this for flavor purposes, or is it useful, or will it be useful in the future?

also, I'm usually up for chess & mutual confessions (lucedes).

Being a magnanimous fellow myself I'm also curious. I assume it will cause certain options to appear during storylets/cards but that is simply a guess.

Also Nightmare 6 means I still dare to leave the door to my room at the Smoky Flophouse open should anyone care to stop by and swap nightmares or enjoy an evening of social goodies of your choosing.
