Also, fate is really overpriced. If it was maybe a buck to refill my actions, I'd be nice, but it is 2.50. Overpriced. Fate should be like worth a dime each. Microtransaction like.
Actions restores itself over the course of 7 minutes a point. For a total of 70 points a day Once you break this barrier they refill at 24 minutes a point. You can also echo a tweet to give yourself an instantaneous 10 points. This too, has a 24 hour limit.
You don't need to buy fate to replenish your Actions. You can gain fate by naturally playing the game.
Shit, once you get up around 35-ish, or 7-8 in an Ambition, failure starts to have real fucking consequences. I've lost 200 moon pearls and garnered about 1.5 Suspicion this morning.
Using someone as your dupe, while amusing, seems to be very much a one shot plan. Short of randomly following others in Fallen London, I'm not sure I see how you could ever pull this on someone more than once. And following new people has all the charm of a filthy madman stepping out of an alley and saying, "Psst! Hey, you! People have been saying some positively wretched things about me. Would you mind stepping into this dark alley and help me clear them up?"

Yeah. Failing some watchful challenges give nightmares and failing dangerous challenges give wounds.
You can drink a tonic, though it also gives wounds that also requires tonics.
Or you can get counseling from some of the people you're following. Or you can get your wounds tended to by someone you're following. Be forewarned though, there's an item called Abominable Salts, that they can use to make your wounds worst, so make sure the person you are getting it done by a trustworthy, or you interact with them in real life so you can kick the shit out of them if they happen to do so.
There's also a companion, a gold fish, who reduces your nightmares by 1 as well. Relatively cheap too.
Until you get into your 20s with your primary abilities, sell everything but Secrets - that's my advice. I've got Shadowy at 37, and I can turn an action into about 36 pennies. The amount you earn scales pretty well.
Edit: If you know what ambition you want to undertake, I can give you some help. For example, if you do Light Fingers, make sure you save any:
Glim (up to 500)
Surface Currency (up to 200)
Moon Pearls (up to 100)

There isn't really a "main story" - the closest thing is your Ambition. Nightmares potentially have consequences, but they don't directly affect your ability to do anything (unless they get to 8).
I'm building up whispered secrets right now. The fastest way I've found at this point is catching cats while building up shadowy. I'm at the point I can get x12 at a time. Anyone have a better way?

Finally started my ambition. Went with Nemesis even though I was at Dangerous 1 just because I like the concept. Loving it so far. MUST HAVE MORE ACTIONS

This game is pretty cool, although has similar mechanics to Forum Warz/KoL etc, which I've played before
Although I like how everything's a skill, that's pretty cool
Anyways, I'm up for some Nightmares listening to, if anyone needs some
But I'm kind of...I don't really know what to do, working on Watchful/Persuasive (both at 5) and kinda getting diminishing returns on the storylets I CAN complete

You get them through playing chess primarily, though there may be other methods. You can use them to decrease your nightmares or get a second chance on a Watchful storylet.

Good idea, maybe with an option to auto-follow all guild members. Hopefully that's something they'll implement going forward.

Oooooo good thinking. Options to buy into group housing and fight against other groups would be fantastic. Plus we can all share a hat! I might even consider allowing someone to borrow my goldfish.

It would be nice if there was an option to spend FATE to reset your Exhausted state. Also, if the level 25 suggestion for Knife and Candle is self-fulfilling - no one joins until they're 25, but if more people joined earlier there would be more for them to do.
I'd also kill for some sort of avatar system, honestly. It would make the prices for articles of clothing more justified, I think.

Also, my nightmares are at 4 when they introduced the concept. What do they do? How do I avoid them? How do I decrease it?
