I too am disappointed by the lack of female options for my femShep. I didn't even get the option to romance Kelly, best I got was that she had dinner with me and started feeding my fish. No lapdance for me, apparently.
I also managed to get through the suicide mission with my entire squad living. I agonized over every choice I had to make, though, I was EXPECTING at least one or two squadmates to die. I sent Tali through the vents really reluctantly, I knew she was the best, but expected her to die. And I was really trying to kill everyone fast so that Samara wouldn't crumble under the pressure of holding up the biotic shield.
The story I liked, despite (because of?) the huge thematic difference from ME1. Less "good vs evil" and more of a complex story. Sorta like Empire Strikes Back. I think that there were almost too many companions, though I liked them all and wouldn't have left a one behind. (Except Zaeed.) Sometimes, though, the people from ME1 who showed up seemed to be everywhere. New characters were there, but it seemed it was almost too referential. I half expected Legion to turn out to be, for example, some NPC you had met on Feros downloaded to a Geth shell. (or even Kaidan/Ashley, the deader of the two).
I will say, being able to import a character with decisions you made yourself, with a face you had grown used to - very huge. I can't imagine it's even near the same experience if you start a new character.
But yes. Fantastic. Exactly what I hoped for. When's ME3 coming out?
Regarding Kelly
The lap dance is post game as I understand it. If you had dinner with her and didn't romance anyone else, go to your Captains Quarters. There should be an intercomm button that lets you call Kelly up to your quarters.
That's what I thought too, but I don't see an intercom button, and there's no other options for talking with her.
The intercom is the little computer right beside your personal computer in your quarters.
And
I think you have to get an e-mail from Kelly first?

have Leigon survive? He died in my first playthrough.
Do his loyalty mission before heading off. A couple of ugprades wouldn't hurt (especially his shield). He's one of the best choices for the vent, but there's pressure on whoever you chose as the fire team leader too. Garrus has never steered me wrong in this situation.
So I want to push the awesome visuals on this game a little further, enabling AA through my GPU's application. Online instructions say to rename the launcher file under the Binaries folder as UT3.
I tried that, but when it came to launch the game, Steam wouldn't let me, so I had to name it back. What gives?
Ok, question regarding doing a specific mission...
If you go after the Reaper IF/F device, do you get locked in to anything? I did absolutely EVERYTHING in the game that was available prior to going there, and I'm annoyed because I had Legion for such a short amount of time. I'm debating leading my wife to go there sooner rather than later, but I don't want to get her screwed up so that she has to go into the end-game or anything.

After you do the IFF, you have time to do one mission (Legion's loyalty mission). Then a thing happens, and if you do more side stuff after said thing happens instead of heading to the endgame straight away, bad things will happen. Well, not like, you lose the game bad. But it will be a worse ending.

More specifics...
If you don't go to the Omega 4 after the kidnapping of your crew, members of your crew will die. Kelly, Doc, etc.
Now conflicting reports say that you can do one mission (Legion's loyalty) after IFF, before the kidnapping. Other people say they were able to do loyalty missions only, but multiple ones. Like some people took Legion with them to Tali's loyalty mission for some Geth-Turian awkwardness.
So... I dunno. I haven't tried it. But the worst that will happen is the crew will die. All your party can still be saved I think.

Man, Archangel's mission is going to be such a pain in the ass on Insanity, I know it.
Closing those fucking shutters, man. It's just the worst. The corridor on the left has a vorcha pyro hiding out behind a wall and it's nearly impossible to get him out from behind that cover. And the room on the right just gets swarmed with vorcha, varren, and krogan. Getting to that shutter is next to impossible without getting shot up.
I died so many times on Veteran. I'm expecting at least one rage-quit this time.

It is suprisingly alright on insanity
One thing to remember, you can take quite a while, esp if you leave someone up with him.. just don't rush it and I found both were not much trouble on my inf
hardest part on insanity was recruiting mordin, that part where 2 blue sun mercs are shooting it out with blood pack.
I died like 20 times
after that you can just upgrade all your guns and not suck as hard.
...That part wasn't too back for me...all I did was go to the left side while I had Jacob and Miranda handle the right. Jacob/Miranda would lower their shields then I would pull them and take them down while they were immobile.
The hardest part is keeping Jacob and Miranda from not dying because they will stay in the same spot even if they'd got a fucking Krogan charging right at them.

However Horizon can go DIAF
I left someone with him on the first try, but having only one teammate got me overwhelmed. This time I took everyone with me, so we'll see how it goes. If he gets raped, I've got a save just beforehand.

Horizon was fine on Hardcore as a Sentinel. I packed Miranda and Mordin and everything went peachy. Got enough tech and biotics there to rip armour and barriers to shreds.
I just had my first Yimir mech go nuclear on me. I headshotted it with a sniper rifle and it started glowing and making very, very bad noises. I ran for cover and as soon as I got behind some, WHOOPFM, mushroom cloud.
You can also oneshot the Vorcha flamethowers by shooting their napalm tanks instead of their heads. Giblets anyone?

Really the hardest part about the ship is that
platform section. You've got no mobility and you've got Harbinger and Scions shooting cover ignoring attacks all day. Really, that's the hardest part in the entire game.

I'm having so much fun with this Vanguard. Playing on Veteran, I just keep charging and blowing things up.
Maxing the charge to be able to exit it in slow-motion is particularly great.
(Archangel spoilers)
I actually beat two of the bosses by charging at them after having taken their shields down- they actually flew off of the bridge and did so in slow motion.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll continue my tactic of telling my wife absolutely nothing regarding going for it early. However, on MY next playthrough... heh heh heh, oh, it will be evil.
Here's another question, regarding the ending:
I chose to go to the main menu after the credits. Do you HAVE to choose "Continue" to do the post-game stuff, or can you load your previous save file or something? Also, is it really worth doing? Did I miss anything mind-bendingly awesome?

Just go to load, and load the game from your playthrough. It's just there to let you finish up any sidequests or to play any DLC they release in the future. It's not an "either/or" choice where you can ONLY keep playing or start a NG+, both options will always be available to you.

I'm pretty sure that you can load your previous save file. Really, though, there isn't much to do other than speak to each of your crew/squad members about the final mission for a bit of conclusion. They'll either be glad or angry or actually rather dead depending on what you did.
You could finish side missions, but I find freeplay to be a bit lacking without an overarching story to support all the random faffing about.
You can finish talking to Legion if you rushed to the Collector Base. He'll have built a bit of consensus about things.
just a note incase people dont know, it seems me2 handles end of game sheps differently then me1, ie in me1 you pretty much had an un-deletable shep save to import, in me2 you import via save game instead.. ended up loosing a shep that way because of overwriting the post-game autosave when i loaded an much earlier mission.

So its the autosave file? In that case, you can still keep playing after the final mission without 'losing' your character I assume? As long as the autosave is beyond the game's ending?

yeah, and any manual saves you make after end game, thats how it looks like, if importing is like that of ng+ in me2 then you just select the save you want to use, but only a save that is after the end mission will show up.
